Grand Blanc Township

June 2026 Edition

Ribbon Cutting & Open House

We are proud to announce the ribbon cutting and open house for our new Department of Public Works (DPW) building and Fire Station, located at 5272 South Dort Highway. The ribbon cutting will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 5:30 p.m., marking the completion of a project designed to strengthen public safety services and support the Township's growing infrastructure needs.

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, residents, community partners, and local officials are invited to tour the facility, meet Township staff, and learn more about how this new building will support firefighters, public works staff, and the residents they serve.

The event is free and open to the public until 7:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!

My GBT Gov

We're excited to announce the launch of My GBT Gov, a new citizen notification app. Our app is designed to keep residents informed and connected with timely updates about community news, service interruptions, and other important information. The app also provides quick access to important links and resources on the Grand Blanc Township website.

The app is free to download and available now! Simply search for “My GBT Gov” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to get started

Property Reinspections are Underway!

You may notice some familiar faces from our Assessing Department throughout the Township in the coming weeks.

Our Assessing Department is beginning routine property reinspections around the Township as part of our ongoing effort to maintain accurate and up-to-date property records. If you recently received a property survey in the mail, we kindly encourage you to complete and return it. Surveys may be mailed back, dropped off at the Township office, completed online, or submitted over the phone.

Your participation helps ensure property information is accurate and can make the reinspection process more efficient.

As part of the reinspection process, Assessing staff may visit properties to verify exterior information only. Staff will not request entry into your home. Returning the survey also helps us confirm interior property details.

For your safety and peace of mind, all Assessing Department staff will carry official Township identification while conducting inspections.

If you have any questions, please contact the Assessing Department at 810-424-2696. We are happy to assist you!

Absentee Ballot Application List Update

We’ve made an important update to our absentee voting process.

Previously, voters on the Permanent AV Application List automatically received absentee ballot applications. As of June 2025, this is no longer the case. All affected voters were notified of this change.

What’s new?

You can now join our Permanent Ballot List to automatically receive an absentee ballot for every eligible future election, removing the need to apply each time.

How to request an absentee ballot application:

• Call our office at 810-424-2600 ext. 2906

• Download an application at Michigan.gov/Elections and return it by mail, email, or in person

• Submit an application online at Michigan.gov/Vote

How to join the Permanent Ballot List:

• Check the box on your AV ballot application that says:

“I want to vote absentee in all future elections. Automatically send me an absent voter ballot for every election.”

• Visit our office in person

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help make voting easy and accessible!
