NRMN is Virtually Everywhere
| |
Our new self-directed course is designed to help faculty members (or other experienced researchers) optimize their mentoring relationships with graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and early-career faculty. The course predominantly addresses research mentoring that occurs within biomedical, behavioral, and social science fields. But, many of the principles and approaches covered in this course are applicable to other disciplines and other types of mentoring relationships.

How to Leverage MyNRMN After Graduation
Graduation season is upon us—and if you’re a soon-to-be-graduate, you probably have a lot on your mind. Whether you’re thinking about going to graduate school, applying for a postdoctoral program, or applying for jobs, you can leverage MyNRMN to help you achieve your post-grad goals. Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Update your MyNRMN resume—we make it easy for you to update your education and experiences and add new information that you want potential employers or programs to know. Plus, you can easily share your resume with your QR code.
- Join a group—a great way to meet other people interested in the same topics as you. There are groups discussing job opportunities, the unconscious bias course, graduating student training and more.
- Browse the Job Opportunity board—this board, found on the navigation bar under Jobs & Internships, is a chance for anyone to list new jobs and internships as well as for others to investigate the opportunities. Paired with the MyNRMN creator, you’ll be on your way to a new gig.
- Find your new mentor—as a post-grad, you are eligible to connect with one of thousands of mentors on My Mentor. Search by criteria, let our algorithm help you choose, or let us manually match you. Whichever way you go, you’ll have access to a great new mentor.
- Update your profile—your MyNRMN profile is the first thing current and future connections see. Make sure you’ve declared that you’re a ‘mentee’ if you’re looking for a mentor—plus, update your education and your ‘about me’ section so others can get to know a little bit about you and your academic career.

Instrumentation Grant Program for Resource-Limited Institutions (S10 - Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
The Instrumentation Grant Program for Resource-limited Institutions supports the purchase of state-of-the-art scientific instruments to enhance the research and educational missions of resource-limited institutions. Requested instruments may support biomedical research and education in basic, translational, biomedically-related behavioral or clinical fields.
This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) provides awards to institutions that have limited NIH Research Project Grant funding to purchase scientific equipment. Proposed instruments may support scientific projects in basic, translational, clinical, or biomedically-related behavioral fields. Students and trainees may also benefit from access to the instrument in formal courses. The requested instrument should invigorate current research, contribute to opportunities for new research projects, stimulate collaborations, and/or enhance education.

The NIH Research With Activities Related to Diversity (ReWARD) Program's overarching goal is to enhance the breadth and geographical location of research and research-related activities supported by NIH. The ReWARD program provides support for the health-related research of scientists who are making a significant contribution to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) and who have no current NIH research project grant funding.
The ReWARD program provides funding for both the scientific research and the DEIA activities of investigators. The grant will support scientific research in areas related to the programmatic interests of one or more of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) and ongoing DEIA activities focused on enhancing diversity in the biomedical research enterprise within the United States and territories.
