What's happening in October at SSCC?

SSCC is bustling with activity during the fall season!

The Amazon Hiring Event brought many employees to the Central Campus on Wed., Sept. 28. The campus was buzzing with nearly 85 attendees. The Amazon team was pleased with the turn-out and thanked SSCC for the hospitality of the day.

After two years of going virtual, the annual Advisory Committee Breakfast resumed face-to-face on Central Campus Fri., Sept. 30. Approximately 60 people attended the event. SSCC’s eight advisory committees for technical programs gathered in the lobby for breakfast, followed by individual breakout sessions. The Committees spent quality time reviewing the program curriculum, discussing industry trends, developing strategies for improvements, etc. We so appreciate these community members who offer their time and expertise to guide the College’s programs.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Since 2004, October has been declared as Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Online cybersecurity training will begin this month for all employees. Please watch your email for more information from IT on the training modules and the deadline for completion, as this training is required.

Steel Magnolias

Tickets go on sale October 4

SSCC Theatre will present Steel Magnolias, by Robert Harling, on Nov. 4-6 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium.

The cast includes familiar faces, including Jessica Wise and Paula Campagna.

Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play is at times touching and funny. You do not want to miss this performance.

Connect to College is taking place at Central Campus on Fri., Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. All are encouraged to participate. Area high school seniors will be invited to campus to learn all about SSCC and the many things we offer.
