Easter Festivities

Beautiful Easter activities in Pct. 3!

I started the day off at the City of Socorro’s Easter Eggstravaganza and Color Fun Run at Bulldog Championship Park. The next stop was at the Placita in San Elizario as we experienced a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Familias Triumfadoras for all of the neighborhood children. I ended the day in Horizon with another Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the City of Horizon Police and the Horizon Fire Department. It was an incredibly fun day! A special thanks goes out to everyone who worked hard to make these events a success!

Kites in the Sky in Memory of Deputy Pete Herrera

The students at LG Alarcón Elementary School in San Elizario flew kites in honor of El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy Peter J. Herrera, who gave his life protecting our community three years ago. I am truly grateful to the Herrera Family, San Elizario ISD, the El Paso County Sheriffs Officers Association, and the students and faculty of Alarcón Elementary for such a beautiful celebration of Deputy Herrera’s life and legacy. He will never be forgotten!

Dia de los Ninos

I would like to thank Familias Triunfadoras for organizing a wonderful health fair in celebration of Dia de los Ninos in San Elizario. It was truly lovely and the children definitely enjoyed it! I can't wait until their next health fair on June 18!

Agua Dulce Skate Park Community Meeting

I am very grateful to everyone who participated in our community meeting at the Agua Dulce Self-Help Center this month to provide input on the design of the soon-to-be renovated Agua Dulce skate park! A HUGE thank you to skateboarding expert, Kanten Russell, for helping us design a world-class skate park for our community! I cannot wait to see it completed!

Visiting Precinct #3

A very special thank you to Mare and Debbie from the Tigua Cultural Center who saved me a loaf of delicious freshly baked bread for my birthday!

I was also honored to participate in the Fabens ISD Earth Day celebration where Fabens High School students taught Fabens Elementary and Middle School students why it is so important to care for our planet!

Finally, I celebrated Dia de Los Ninos/Dia de los Libros with our new Digital Librarian at the County’s Agua Dulce Self-Help Center, which also included free bike repairs by Los Gatos Bike for the neighborhood children!

Pledge of Allegiance at Commissioners Court

Help us applaud the students who recite the Pledge of Allegiance on Monday mornings at the start of our weekly Commissioners Court meetings. You make us very proud! Thank you!
