Vote for San Elizario
Best Historic Small Town
We all know what a treasure San Elizario is to our community, filled with history, culture and traditions. Now we have a chance to vote for San Elizario as the Best Historic Small Town in the country for 2022! Vote for San Elizario today! You can vote once per day, so remember to vote every day! Let's show the rest of the country why San Elizario is so special!
Honoring Our Fallen Heroes
I am grateful to have been able to participate in this year's Memorial Day Procession from San Lorenzo Church to Clint Veterans Park. Thank you to the Clint and San Elizario veterans for the beautiful tribute to all those who gave their lives in the name of protecting our country! We must remember to honor these heroes every day and not just on Memorial Day!
Vigil in Solidarity with Uvalde
The City of Socorro hosted a beautiful tribute to the victims of the shooting in Uvalde on Sunday, May 29. We stand in solidarity with the families of the children and teachers who lost their lives in that senseless tragedy. We must also call on our elected state and federal leaders to make the necessary changes so that no other community has to suffer through a tragedy like this.
El Paso Mission Trail Association
Thank you to the El Paso Mission Trail Association for hosting renowned local author Sergio Troncoso at the Nestor Valencia Mission Valley Transit Center this month! Sergio was born and raised in Ysleta and his love for his community is evident in every book that he has written. Pick up a copy of his new book “Nobody’s Pilgrims” today and then I urge you to stop by the Transit Center to see some of the beautiful original works of art on display!
Cochran Colonia Park
Together with DigDeep, KABOOM! and AYUDA, Inc., we finished building the community park in the Cochran colonia! Thank you to all of the volunteers that came out to help and make this dream possible! On behalf of the residents of Cochran, we are forever grateful to DigDeep, KABOOM! and AYUDA, Inc. for their continued advocacy!
City of Socorro Website Launch
The City of Socorro has a new website! Residents can now pay their bills, view City maps, obtain information about City services, learn about Socorro’s history and so much more! This month’s launch party was a great way to spread the word! Check it out!

San Felipe Park Community Meeting
I am very excited about all of the improvements and repairs coming to San Felipe Park this year! San Felipe will soon be a beautiful and safe place for County residents to enjoy their Off Highway Vehicles. I would like to extent my gratitude to everyone who came out to the Fabens Warehouse for our community meeting earlier this month and for giving us so much valuable feedback!
Visiting Precinct #3
I was honored to have been asked to participate in Capistrano Elementary School’s Career Day! I was able to share with the 3rd and 4th grade students why I love being County Commissioner for Precinct 3. And I am so glad that some of those same students were able to join us in person to recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of Commissioners Court!
May 15th started with a prayer to San Isidro, the patron saint of farmers, at Bodega Loya as he began his visit to 12 farms in Socorro, TX, where residents sang and asked for his blessings for the crops. The day ended at the annual Fiesta in San Elizario, where it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the food, music and company of their neighbors. It was a great day!
Playing Ball in Socorro!
Thank you to the City of Socorro for inviting me to their annual employee softball game! It was great cheering on both teams! Everyone played a great game and it was so much fun seeing City of Socorro staff enjoying themselves with their co-workers on a beautiful Saturday morning!
Please help us applaud all of the students who recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of our weekly Commissioners Court meetings. You make us very proud!
Thank you!
