ALWAYS remembered, NEVER forgotten!
This month’s memorial events in remembrance of the 23 victims of the August 3rd Wal-Mart massacre were beautiful and deeply moving. Thank you to Border Network for Human Rights for reminding us that we must never stop fighting against racism, hatred and xenophobia. Thank you to all County of El Paso staff for our beautiful Healing Garden and to County Judge Samaniego for reminding us that we must never forget to honor the memories of the 23 innocent lives lost.

El Paso County continues to work hard for our communities!
|
One of the accomplishments that I will always be most proud of is bringing a park to a community that had been asking for one for over 30 years. Thank you to Horizon Communities Improvement Association for donating the land for the park, to the County’s Parks Department for working so hard to secure funding for the park, and to the County’s Public Works Department for removing all of the weeds, brush and trash. Most of all, thank you to the residents of Horizon View Estates for never giving up hope for their park! I can't wait until we are able to start construction!
