Binational History Conference in San Elizario | |
It was a true honor to welcome representatives from ten Mexican cities to the Binational History Conference in Socorro and San Elizario where they were all declared Sister Cities! | |

Broadband Expansion in Fabens and Tornillo | Thank you to our great community partner Charter Communications/Spectrum for their multi-million dollar investment to expand broadband internet service to 1,300 homes and small businesses in Fabens and Tornillo. Also for the very generous $10,000 donation to Communities in Schools of El Paso! | |
El Paso County continues to work hard for our communities! | Another community will soon be connected to water and sewer due to a collaboration between the Lower Valley Water District, the North American Development Bank and the County of El Paso! Thank you to the residents of Panorama Village for always advocating for their community! There are many more communities that will also be connected soon, as the County works hard to ensure that every resident has access to water and sewer infrastructure! | |

New El Paso County Transit System Shelters
This month we celebrated the completion of our new El Paso County Transit System’s Passenger Shelters located in Horizon, Tornillo and Montana Vista! This is just the first phase as there will be many more passenger shelters installed throughout the County in the coming years. Routes will also be expanded and more options will be available to riders!

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Ballin’ for Baseball | |
It was an honor to throw out the first pitch at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Ballin’ for Baseball tournament in Fabens this past month! Thank you to all of the deputies that volunteered their time for this wonderful event and to all of the children that participated! | |
County Nutrition Program and Bee Real
Thank you to Rosalva, Lupe and all of our County Nutrition Program staff for providing nutritious meals to our seniors every day! It was wonderful spending time with our Clint seniors this month!
The Bee Real Festival in San Elizario had so much wonderful information on growing local sustainable food! The aguas frescas and the fresh fruit were delicious!

Happy Labor Day!!
It was an honor participating in this year's Labor Day caravan and breakfast once again! It was especially meaningful because we were also able to see one of the most hardworking and dedicated individuals recognized for his work. Congratulations Hector Montes of AFSCME Local 59!!! Very well-deserved!!!

National Voter Registration Day | |
We celebrated National Voter Registration Day this past month. My staff and I started by registering eligible seniors at San Elizario High School, followed by Clint High School, and then Clint Early College High School. Thank you to all of the seniors that registered and to the staff and faculty for being so welcoming!! Do not forget to exercise your right and VOTE! | |

It was so much fun participating in the San Elizario Homecoming Parade this month and seeing so many people from the community come out and show their support! Thank you to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for giving me a ride in the beautiful 1953 Chevy. Thank you as well to all of the student and community groups that participated in the parade! It was wonderful!

The Ysleta High School Homecoming Parade included students from Capistrano Elementary School, Ysleta Middle School and Ysleta Elementary School. It was wonderful to see the younger students so excited to participate! | |

This month we celebrated with students, teachers and faculty at the Ysleta High School Homecoming Parade! The community was definitely ready to cheer on the Indians as well as show off their school spirit!

It was a beautiful evening for the Clint High School Homecoming Parade! It was wonderful to see so many people cheering on the Clint student athletes!! Thank you to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office for letting me ride in the beautiful 1953 Chevy! It was the hit of the parade!

Tornillo
Follow the yellow brick road to Homecoming in Tornillo! The Wizard of Oz themed floats at the Tornillo Homecoming Parade were absolutely amazing! We saw Dorothy, Toto, the Tinman, the Lion and the Scarecrow!

Del Valle High School’s homecoming parade was truly wonderful! The 80’s and 90’s themed floats were awesome!

El Buen Pastor Catholic Church had a wonderful turnout at this year's annual kermes in Sparks!! The weather was perfect, the music was great and the food was delicious! It was truly wonderful to have been able to greet all of the Sparks community who attended!

It was wonderful to visit the the National Art Honor Society students while they painted another mural at the Veterans Park Pool in Fabens, TX. I was also able to see the National Honor Society students clean and beautify Veterans Park. I then met with the Fabens High School band to wish them good luck in their upcoming competition! | |
It was wonderful to have visited the Fabens Veterans Park to show my support for the Fabens Alumni Association! I was able to pick up a Fabens Wildcats t-shirt and meet the football coaches and students! There were a lot of really neat vendors too! | |
