Tour of Colonias with HCIA and
Congresswoman Veronica Escobar
Commissioner Holguin was able to accompany Congresswoman Veronica Escobar as she toured some of the areas most in need of federal assistance in the County of El Paso. A special thanks to Roxanne Jurado of Horizon Communities Improvement Association for organizing the tour and to Congresswoman Escobar for fighting to obtain as much federal funding for our communities as possible!

Healing Garden At Ascarate Park
May we never forget the 23 innocent souls that were lost on that terrible day two years ago.
“Together we remember, together we heal.”
El Paso County Healing Garden Dedication Ceremony, August 3, 2021.
As we approached the two-year anniversary of the horrific events of August 3, Commissioner Holguin was glad to have been able to share some thoughts regarding the challenges we face as a community as we continue to fight against racism, xenophobia and hatred. A very special thanks goes out to LULAC and the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda for providing local elected officials this opportunity to speak and for always supporting our efforts.
El Paso County Housing Authority
Thank you to the El Paso County Housing Authority and to El Paso Health for providing 400 backpacks to students in Fabens! In addition, a very special thanks goes to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger and Reynolds Home for providing food and diapers, and to all of the dedicated volunteers from Exit 49 and the staff of the County of El Paso for making this great event possible!
Mission Valley Monthly Multi-Jurisdictional Meeting
Commissioner Holguin would like to thank all of our tremendous community partners that meet each month to ensure that we are all coordinating our efforts with regards to issues affecting the Mission Valley. It is always great to hear from the El Paso County Water Improvement District #1, the Lower Valley Water District, the City of Socorro, the City of San Elizario, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and our very own County Public Works Department!
Visiting Precinct #3
The weather was wonderful for the annual San Lorenzo Catholic Church Fiesta in Clint this month! The danzas were beautiful, the music was great and the food was delicious! It was truly great to have seen so many people enjoying themselves! Can't wait to see everyone at the San Elizario festival next month on September 18th and 19th!
Community Meeting
Commissioner Holguin met with the residents of the Fabens Schultz Canal neighborhood this past month in order to discuss the building of a much-needed road in their landlocked neighborhood, which can then lead to the installation of water/wastewater infrastructure in the future. The County is committed to finding solutions to these types of issues and looks forward to working with these County residents!
Pledge of Allegiance at Commissioners Court
