Prison Fellowship Angel Tree Program
I would like to extend gratitude to everyone who donated a toy in support of our Angel Tree Program toy drive this year! A special thanks goes to Chris Acosta of the El Paso County Sheriffs Office and to the Paso del Norte Tejano Democrats for donating the majority of these toys! And thank you to my staff, Javier and Gabby, for always going above and beyond for our community!
Happy PAWlidays!
It was a beautiful morning for a walk around Ascarate Lake at the County’s Santa Paws event! My very own Chihuahuas Coco, Penny and Cinnamon enjoyed meeting and walking with other four-legged friends!
Lights on the Lake
This year's Lights on the Lake event at Ascarate Park honored our healthcare workers and first responders. These past two years have been truly difficult for our community, but our healthcare workers and first responders have always been there for us. We cannot thank them enough for all that they do! Tremendously grateful for their work!
Horizon City Christmas Day Parade
It was wonderful to see so many people at the Horizon City Christmas Parade! A very special thanks to the Centennial Lions Club for organizing such a wonderful event for our community every year!
City of Socorro Christmas Parade
I would like to thank everyone who took time to go out to see the City of Socorro’s Christmas Parade and WinterFest! It was a sight to see, having so many people in the holiday spirit!
Visiting Precinct #3
Busy month in Pct. 3! The OT Smith Shared Use Path was officially completed! It is a beautiful 2.4 mile-long walk path that connects schools, neighborhoods, businesses and Coyote Park in the heart of Tornillo, TX.
We also broke ground for the new All-Abilities Playground at Fabens’ Risinger Park. Once completed, all children will be able to enjoy the park regardless of age or ability. A special thanks goes out to the neighborhood children that helped us with the groundbreaking. We appreciate you!
Very proud to have another neighborhood in the Mission Valley successfully connected to sewer service! Thanks to a collaboration between the Lower Valley Water District, NADBank and the Texas Water Development Board, 400 residential properties in the Rosa Azul neighborhood in Socorro are now connected to sewer! We are not stopping there as we have more infrastructure projects to connect more neighborhoods in El Paso County!
It was such a pleasure visiting with the staff and members of the YWCA in the Mission Valley! I was delighted to run into one of my predecessors on Commissioners Court, Commissioner Miguel Teran!
CONGRATULATIONS
A special month for Pct. #3 on Commissioners Court! Congratulations to 6th grader Jair Herrera from Del Valle Middle School for winning 2nd place in the County’s “I Voted” Sticker Contest! Also, it was my honor to present two resolutions recognizing the work of Project Always Beside You for their advocacy on behalf of K-9s and their military handlers and recognizing Sen. Cesar Blanco for passing the Vanessa Guillen Act in the Texas Legislature in an effort to bring awareness to the issue of military sexual trauma and to ensure justice for all victims.
Pledge of Allegiance at Commissioners Court
Help us applaud the students who recite the Pledge of Allegiance on Monday mornings at the start of our weekly Commissioners Court meetings. You make us very proud! Thank you!
