Happy New Year, El Paso!!

May we all be thankful for the blessings in our lives!

Wishing every day of 2024 be filled with joy, happiness, and prosperity for you and your loved ones!

Mourning County Commissioner

Carl Robinson

County Commissioner Carl Robinson served his country as a soldier in the US Army and then served his community as a City Representative and County Commissioner. He was one of the kindest and most generous people I’ve ever known and he will be missed tremendously. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Destiny Church, 9815 Dyer St., at 12:30pm.

Kindship Commons in Clint

This past December we broke ground on a new affordable housing development in Clint! Kinship Commons will consist of 44 housing units for families who may be struggling and need a safe, affordable place to call home. Thank you to Principal Ritchie and all of the Clint High School students who were able to join us!

“The. Majestic Mission Trail”

December marked the premiere of the County’s “Majestic Mission Trail” marketing video at the Alamo Drafthouse. This short film will help us spread the word throughout the region and the country about the beautiful and historic Mission Trail, which represents 350 years of our history, culture and traditions! Thank you to all of the Mission Trail residents, business owners and community members that joined us for the screening!

Luminarias at the Mission Valley Visitor Center

I am so happy to have been able to help the Mission Trail Association with their project of placing luminarias on the roof of the Mission Valley Visitor Center! It looks beautiful! And it was wonderful to have Shelby McCue sing Christmas carols to us as we enjoyed hot chocolate and delicious cookies!

Thank you to Constable Javier Garcia and the

Mission Trail Association

A very special thank you to Constable Javier Garcia and the Mission Trail Association for their very kind recognitions this past December! Constable Garcia is a wonderful community partner who is always ready to help our community. The luminarias on the Mission Valley Visitors Center couldn't have been possible without the help and collaboration of so many individuals. I am so happy to have been a part of the effort!

Operation Hope

Thank you to Operation Hope and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for all of the toys that were provided to the children of Tornillo this past December. The children were also able to take photographs with their favorite superheroes before choosing their gifts. A special thank you to Whataburger for providing breakfast!

Thank you to the Paso del Norte Tejano Democrats for all of the blankets that they collected for donation to the migrants served by New Life Church and Sacred Heart Church in downtown El Paso!

Thank you to the residents who stopped by and to the Horizon Fire Department as well as the Sheriff’s Office for also participating. A very special thank you to the awesome staff of Amber’s Coffee Bar for hosting us!

El Paso County Pct#3 Holiday Parades

Horizon City Christmas Parade

It was wonderful to see so many people at the Horizon Christmas parade this past December! The best part was, of course, hanging out with Santa and Mrs. Claus on top of the fire truck! I hope everyone enjoyed a most joyful holiday!

Fabens Christmas Parade

The County’s Three Missions float became Santa’s sleigh this past December for the Fabens Christmas parade! Thank you for joining us, Santa! I hope everyone had a most wonderful holiday season!

Virgen de Guadalupe Procession in Ysleta

It was a beautiful morning for the annual procession in honor of the Virgen de Guadalupe in Ysleta. Thank you to all of the parishioners from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Our Lady of the Valley for organizing this beautiful event every year! And a very special thank you goes out to our Constables from Pct. 6 and Pct. 1 for helping with traffic control!

City of San Elizario’s Parade of Lights

It was wonderful to see so many people come out for the City of San Elizario’s Parade of Lights!! The floats looked amazing! A special thank you to Santa Claus for stopping by!!

Visiting Precinct #3

Horizon City

It was so hard to choose the best float for the Horizon City “A Charlie Brown Christmas” Parade. All of the floats were beautiful and full of Snoopy spirit! Thank you to everyone who decorated a float for the parade and to everyone who joined us for the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony!

Fabens Senior Center

I am very grateful to have stopped by the Fabens Senior Center this past month and deliver a new radio, new pool table equipment and two sets of cornhole games. It was wonderful to visit with all of the Fabens Seniors and play a few games of cornholes with them!

Pete Duarte Headstart in Horizon

Thank you to the staff of the Pete Duarte Headstart in Horizon for giving us a tour of their beautiful school! I am very grateful for the generosity of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Officers Association and to the Comadres for their generous donations of gifts for the kids!

El Paso County Sportspark Tournament

Thank you to the El Paso Sports Commission for inviting me to throw out the first pitch at this past December’s baseball tournament at the County Sportspark!

Thank you to the Garden Park Neighborhood Watch for organizing Cookies with Santa at Ampleforth Park! The children were able to take a photo with Santa and decorate handmade Christmas tree ornaments!

Secret Santa at Ysleta Elementary School

I was so blessed to have been able to join the Ysleta High School Alumni Association and Deputy Constable Rito Rubio at Ysleta Elementary School to pass out gifts, Christmas stockings, hot chocolate and cookies to their students! Truly heartwarming!

Veterans in Clint Thinking Of & Remembering You (VICTORY)

My sincere gratitude to Jerry and Hilda Acuna for hosting this December’s appreciation lunch for the volunteers of Veterans In Clint Thinking of and Remembering You (VICTORY)! The VICTORY volunteers do so much for the veterans in Clint and I am so honored to have been able to celebrate with them!
