Happy Independence Day, El Paso!
I hope everyone had a very safe and fun 4th of July! Thank you to everyone who went out to the Lions Club International Eastside Parade this year! It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the parade!
El Paso County is working hard for you!
There are so many exciting projects happening in Pct. 3 right now!
This month, we celebrated the completion of a first time sewer connection project in two neighborhoods outside of Fabens. One hundred families will now have sewer service for the first time ever!
We also celebrated the donation of 14 acres of land to the County where we will build a park in the Horizon View Estates. The residents are excited about helping choose the amenities that they want in the park at next month’s clean-up event!
Furthermore, we celebrated the groundbreaking of a first time water connection project in the community of Cochran with our community partners DigDeep and AYUDA. Once this project is completed, 25 families will have their homes connected to water for the first time ever!

In early July, the El Paso County Planning & Development Department and the Lower Valley Water District held a public dedication ceremony for the Lourdes & Conquistador. First-Time Wastewater Service System in the Greater Fabens Community. Please click on the link below to watch video:
Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway
I was so grateful to be able to honor our community’s Korean War Veterans on National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, and to unveil the beautiful Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway sign that the County of El Paso helped to fund! We must always remember to honor our veterans and thank them for their selfless service to our country!
Movies at the Park
This summer was just perfect for Movies at the Park! Thank you to the El Paso County Parks and Recreation Department for hosting movies at Agua Dulce and Risinger Parks, to the City of Socorro for hosting movies at Rio Vista Park and to the Horizon City Police Department for hosting movies at Corcoran Park! Thank you all for providing such a fun activity for our community!
Food Distribution & Backpack Giveaway in Fabens
Thank you to Exit 49, Ruben from the County’s Roads and Bridges Department, the El Paso County Housing Authority, El Paso Health and all of the other volunteers who helped with food distribution and the backpack giveaway in Fabens this month. It was a huge success! More than 400 families and children were provided with food and backpacks!
Visiting Precinct 3
Thank you to El Paso Electric for giving us a tour of their incredible solar farm and for their willingness to help the Fabens Water District explore the possibility of establishing one in Fabens!
Thank you to Rodrigo Estrada with Congressman Gonzalez’s office for setting up a tour with CBP of the Tornillo port of entry as we work to begin processing commercial traffic again. I am very excited for what is to come next!
Thank you to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for donating school supplies to the students at Tornillo High and Tornillo Junior High as they get ready to start school next week! Best of luck to all returning students everywhere!!
It was wonderful to see so many people attend movies at the park in Horizon this month! My thanks goes out to the Horizon City Police Department for organizing such a wonderful family-friendly event! It was great to be able to provide a pizza to every family in attendance. Thank you Horizon City Police Association, Constable Javier Garcia, Horizon City Alderwoman Corral and Alderman Renteria and Commander Ryan Urrutia from the EP County Sheriffs Office!
The Socorro Fire Department held its Summer Camp this past weekend and the kids had so much fun! They learned a lot about the work that our incredible fire fighters do on a daily basis. Thank you to the Chief and all of the staff as well as all of the volunteers for making this wonderful opportunity available to the children of Socorro!
Make plans to check out the Last Thursday at Mission Valley Art Walk when it happens again in August! For July's tour, we started at the Tigua Cultural Center, toured the Socorro Mission, bought some fresh vegetables at Bodega Loya, grabbed some refreshments at 3 Missions Brewery and the Dusty Tap and ended the tour in San Elizario’s Historic Art District! Check out the El Paso County Economic Development Facebook page for information on the next art walk! A special thanks to Isela Reyes, Mayor of San Elizario, who joined us on the tour. Her hospitality once we arrived in San Elizario was priceless!
Pledge of Allegiance

Please help us applaud all of the students who recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of our weekly Commissioners Court meetings. You make us very proud!

Thank you!
