We broke ground on the new San Felipe Off Highway Vehicle Park in Fabens this month! The new park will contain trails and an obstacle course, a learner loop for kids, fencing, signage and public restrooms. We were also able to join Off Road Desert Therapy in honoring and showing our support for El Paso veterans. I was honored to present memorial flags to the families of three local fallen heroes as part of the ceremony. It was a beautiful event!

Thank you to Congresswoman Escobar for bringing together USDA Undersecretary Gloria Montano Green, USDA Director Lilliana Salerno and International Boundary and Water Commissioner Maria-Elena Giner to meet with local farmers to discuss the water needs of our agricultural communities. And thank you to AYUDA for meeting with us to discuss the continued need for water infrastructure in our area!

Sheriff’s National Night Out

Thank you to the Sheriff’s Office for another incredibly fun National Night Out!

Tornillo Port of Entry

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Chamber of Commerce and Rodrigo Estrada from Congressman Gonzalez's office for arranging a tour and round table to discuss updates related to the Tornillo port of entry and for organizing a listening session for businesses and municipalities along the Mission Trail!

Rio Grand Council of Governments

Thank you to the Rio Grande Council of Governments for meeting with Pct. 3 stakeholders regarding the many federal funding opportunities available for our region!  I am very proud to have obtained funding from the Commissioners Court in order to hire a grant writer at the COG who will focus on assisting the small municipalities and rural governmental entities apply for funding and not miss out on these incredible funding opportunities!

Honoring St. Francis of Assisi

Fr. Juan did an amazing job in prayer as he held a special blessing of the animals this October in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. It was a beautiful ceremony held in the courtyard of the Ysleta Mission. A special thanks to Al Baeza from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for the beautiful photos!

Stand with Estela Casas!!

What a great start to the month of October as we participated in the Stand with Estela Casas 5K and Fun-Walk. Congratulations to my daughter Rebekah for winning first place in her age group!

It was a beautiful evening for the Fabens High School Homecoming Parade! It’s always so wonderful to see the Fabens community come out and support its students! Thank you to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for giving me a ride in the beautiful 1953 Chevy.  Go Wildcats!

HORIZON HIGH SCHOOL

There were so many participants at the Horizon High School Homecoming Parade!  The students and staff did a wonderful job decorating their very scary floats!  Go Scorpions!!!!

Trunk or treat

It was so much fun participating in Our Lady of Mr. Carmel’s Trunk or Treat event! All of the trunks were decorated so creatively and congratulations to all of the winners of the costume contest!

Visiting Precinct #3

What amazing performances at the 11th Annual Rocking the Rez Pow Wow held at the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo earlier this month. We were able to enjoy delicious Indian Fried Bread and Indian Tacos as we watched the beautiful native dancers!  It was truly a sight to see!

Congratulations to all of the students at Clint ISD’s Early College Academy for organizing an awesome Fall Festival!

Thank you to the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo for hosting their Annual Red Ribbon Week activities again this year.  It was a fun-filled evening for the entire family!
