Hispanic Heritage Month
“Preservation of one's own culture does not require contempt or disrespect for other cultures.” - Cesar Chavez

May we all appreciate where we come from...
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
"A day of remembrance for those that lost their lives, and for all of those who gave their lives. We remember!"
September 11, 2021 is a day we remember the nearly 3,000 souls whose lives were tragically lost twenty years ago in one of the darkest days of our country’s history. I want to give a special thanks to ESD #1 for such a beautiful tribute. We must never forget!
El Paso County Juvenile Probation Department
I want to give a special thanks to Chief Roger Martínez and all of the dedicated staff of the Juvenile Probation Department for taking my staff and I on a tour of their facility. I am truly grateful for all you do to try to help these kids get back on the right path!
HAPPY LABOR DAY!
On this Labor Day, I was proud to celebrate workers and thank unions for all of the workplace protections that they have fought for on our behalf. A special salute to President Ross Moore of the Central Labor Union, AFSCME, IBEW, TSEU and all of the unions that were present at the Labor Day Caravan. I want to thank you for all of your advocacy on behalf of El Paso workers!
UTEP’s IGNITE
It was a true honor to have been a guest speaker at UTEP’s IGNITE: Women Who Ran 915 speaker series this month! I enjoyed speaking to and hearing from the young women who are the next generation of leaders in our community!
No-New Revenue Tax Rate for Fiscal Year 2022
The El Paso Neighborhood Coalition
It was lovely to have met with Fabiola Campos-Lopez of the El Paso Neighborhood Coalition this month! Neighborhood associations do such important work in our communities and I look forward to meeting with all of the neighborhood associations in Pct. 3!
Celebrating Women's Equality Day
The League of Women Voters organized such a wonderful event commemorating Women’s Equality Day. I Learned about the history of women in politics in El Paso, which was truly inspiring!
Two years ago, on Women’s Equality Day in 2019, I announced my candidacy for the El Paso County Commissioners Court because I felt that a woman’s voice was absolutely necessary on the Court. I would like to say thank you to everyone who believed in me and helped make my dream possible!
Visiting Precinct #3
If you have not had a chance to stop by Bodega Loya in Socorro, TX, you are missing out! They have some of the freshest local fruits and vegetables available in town! The figs were picked fresh from the tree and the salsa was made on the spot! I would like to kindly thank Marty Loya and her family for their wonderful hospitality!
Pledge of Allegiance at Commissioners Court
Help us applaud the students who recite the Pledge of Allegiance on Monday mornings at the start of our weekly Commissioners Court meetings. You make us very proud! Thank you!
