July is El Paso County's
Month of Unity and Healing
“In unity we can work together to bring out the best in humanity and overcome the hatred in our society.”

Help us honor the memory of those lost in the tragedy of August 3, 2019 by visiting El Paso County's Healing Garden located at Ascarate Park beginning on August 3, 2021 at 8 p.m.
Fabens Community Meeting
Commissioner Holguin hosted a community meeting at the Fabens Roads and Bridges office on Wednesday, July 14. A very special thank you to all of the guest speakers, including the El Paso County Sheriff's Department, the County's Public Works, Infrastructure, and Parks Departments, the County Administrator Betsy Keller, Constable Pct. 6 Javier Garcia and Justice of the Peace Ruben Lujan, as well as to all of the community members in attendance! Thank you for all of your great questions and suggestions!
HUGS NOT WALLS
I was honored to be present at the Hugs Not Walls event held on the Rio Grande this past month. The event was organized by Border Network for Human Rights, and gives families on both sides of the border a chance to share a hug for three minutes. It was truly beautiful to see so many families reunited, even if only for a very short period of time!
Vaccine Efforts continue in our Rural Communities
Thank you to the National Guard for providing second dose vaccines to the Agua Dulce community and to our County Self-Help Center staff for helping us make this vaccination clinic a success! Together, we vaccinated more than three dozen Agua Dulce residents!

My sincere gratitude and thanks for all for your assistance!
Community Service Spotlight
Thank you to LULAC Council #132 for your very generous donation of PPE and sanitation products and to AYUDA of San Elizario for your help in distributing the donated products to residents in need! The pandemic is not over and we must continue practicing good hygiene in order to prevent the spread of COVID.
Pueblo Viejo
Neighborhood Association
It was truly a pleasure to meet with the members of the Pueblo Viejo Neighborhood Association! A special thank you for the invitation to your meeting and I look forward to working closely with you for the betterment of our community!

Congratulations to the new principal at Ysleta High School, Judy Calderon, and to the new principal at Ysleta Middle School, Jose Pérez! Welcome!

Thank you to the staff of EPCHA for everything that you do to ensure that our community has access to high-quality affordable housing.
