Thank you to the City of Socorro for a wonderful Independence Day Celebration and fireworks display show!

1st Annual Justice for Juniors

This past month was the 1st Annual Justice for Juniors event organized by the District Attorney’s office at Bulldog Championship Park in Socorro! Thank you to all of our local law enforcement agencies who participated, including the El Paso County Sheriffs Office, Constable Javier Garcia, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Officers Association, the Horizon Police Officers Association and the Socorro Police Department!

AT&T & El Pasoans Fighting Hunger

Technology and access to the internet are absolutely necessary for everything from school and work to medical care and treatment. Thank you to our partners at AT&T for teaming up with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger to donate and distribute laptop computers to 150 families without access to this very necessary technology!

Ilumina Public Library

This past month I celebrated in Agua Dulce as they had their grand opening of the County’s Ilumina Public Library. The Ilumina Library is all digital, which means that El Paso County residents can have access to millions of resources in the form of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, music and movies. It’s completely free for County residents and we also have tablets and hotspots available for the public. I invite you to visit our self- help center and take advantage of these wonderful opportunities available to everyone!

All-Abilities Playground at Risinger Park

The new All-Abilities Playground at Risinger Park in Fabens has completed phase 1! I invite you to stop by the playground and enjoy the wonderful equipment available. Please join us for the official grand opening of the playground on Friday, August 4 at 9:30am. It is a truly safe and fun place to play!

Paving Season is here!!

Paving season is here again! Please be patient with our staff from the Roads and Bridges Department as they work hard to repair and repave streets in Fabens, Tornillo, outside of Horizon and in Montana Vista!

Visiting Precinct #3

Ysleta del Sur Pueblo

Congratulations to the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo on the grand opening of their Health and Human Services Building! The facility is truly state-of-the-art and will result in a tremendous increase in access to medical care for the members of the Pueblo, and eventually for the entire Mission Valley community!

Rio Bosque Wetlands

My staff and I spent the very hot morning this past month visiting the Rio Bosque Wetlands Park, a 372-acre City of El Paso park managed by the UTEP Center for Environmental Resource Management located right in the heart of the Mission Valley! Thank you to John Sproul and Sergio Samaniego for spending the morning with us and giving us a very informative tour of the park!

Socorro, TX

Congratulations to the Socorro Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleading squads for the recognitions they received for overall sportsmanship, top high school, and best overall team at this year’s UTEP Cheer Camp!

Clint, TX

Thank you to the deputies from the Peter J. Herrera Sheriff’s Office Substation for organizing this month’s Back to School Movie Night in Clint! And thank you to everyone from the Clint community who came out to watch the movie on one of the most beautiful summer evenings this past July!

Pledge of Allegiance

Please help us applaud all of the students who recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of our weekly Commissioners Court meetings. You make us very proud!
