Star on the Mountain Lights up for Pride Month!

Last year, my office started working on trying to light up the Star on the Mountain in rainbow colors in celebration of Pride Month. On May 31st, we made it happen! Thank you to Sun City Pride and the El Paso Chamber for the wonderful partnership and to everyone who contributed to making this night possible!

Sheriff for a Day

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office made the wish of a very special young man come true. Even, a fifteen-year-old in Hospice care, has always dreamed of becoming a law enforcement officer, and his wish came true as he was sworn in as Honorary Sheriff for the day. I was honored to have been there to congratulate him and am very thankful to everyone at EPCSO who made his wish come true possible!

4th St. in Fabens is now

"Private First Class Fernando Gutierrez St."

I was honored to have been able to rename 4th Street in Fabens after Private First Class Fernando Gutierrez, a true Fabens hometown hero who gave his life on the battlefield in Vietnam. May we forever honor his and every fallen soldier’s memory and legacy!

Wildcat Nation Street is Unveiled in Fabens!

The new Wildcat Nation Street in Fabens was finally unveiled! Thank you to Olga Orozco for suggesting such a wonderful idea and to Dr. Aguayo, the students and administrative staff at Fabens High School for hosting the magnificent celebration! Go Wildcats!!

Grand Re-Opening of Fire Station No. 26 in the Mission Valley

The City of El Paso held its grand re-opening of Fire Station No. 26 in the Mission Valley this past May! Thank you to Mayor Oscar Leeser and everyone at the City of El Paso for all of the hard work that they do every day to make sure that our first responders have the resources that they need to keep our community safe!

City of Socorro designates National Historic Landmark

Congratulations to the City of Socorro on the National Historic Landmark designation for the Rio Vista Farm! The Rio Vista Farm is only the second NHL designated site in all of El Paso County and the only NHL plaque in both Spanish and English in the entire United States!

Visit to Novipax

I was able to stop by Novipax, one of the newest employers in our area, and get a tour of their facility and meet some of their employees. Thank you to Novipax for inviting me to their employee appreciation event and for their soon-to-be-unveiled contribution to the Sparks Park!

Tornillo ISD Centennial Celebration

Thank you to the Tornillo Alumni Association for inviting me to the unveiling of the official Tornillo ISD Centennial Celebration banner! I look forward to helping with whatever I can to make the centennial celebration a huge success!

Fabens Community Clean-Up

Thank you to all of the County employees who volunteered for this month’s Community Cleanup trash disposal event in Fabens! Thanks for helping keep our communities clean! For a complete calendar of upcoming clean-ups in other parts of Pct. 3, please call 915-546-2144.
