El Paso County Sheriff's Foundation Thanksgiving Food Drive
I would like to give special recognition to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Foundation for organizing a Thanksgiving food drive for families in need throughout the County. I was honored and grateful to have been able to participate in such a wonderful event. Thank you to everyone at the Sheriff's Office that made this event possible!
Mañanitas Para Alicia Chacon
I am honored to have led the effort to rename the Commissioners Courtroom after former County Judge Alicia R. Chacon. Judge Chacon was a trailblazer in every sense of the word, and opened the door for so many of us wishing to follow in her footsteps and serve our community. On November 14, 2021, we celebrated Judge Chacon's birthday and the naming of the Judge Alicia R. Chacon Commissioners Courtroom at the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse. The fiesta was sponsored by the Paso del Norte Tejano Democrats and included mariachis, folklorico dancers, the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Youth Dancers, live music, and plenty of food!
Celebrating Veterans Day!
I would like to make a special salute to all of our veterans! Please know that your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten and that we are incredibly thankful for you! Thank you to El Paso Flags Across America for organizing a beautiful parade and flag dedication ceremony on Veterans Day! And congratulations to retired Chief Warrant Officer David Garcia, El Paso County’s Veteran of the Year, for being recognized at UTEP’s final home game on November 20th!
San Elizario Veterans Day Parade &
Clint Veterans Park Ceremony
The San Elizario Veterans Day Parade and the Clint Veterans Park Ceremony were wonderful opportunities to show our veterans how much we honor and appreciate them for their service and all of their sacrifices! I was truly blessed to have spent the day with so many true American heroes from our community!
Fabens High School Veterans Day Ceremony
It was wonderful to see so many veterans from Fabens, Tornillo, San Elizario, Socorro and El Paso at the Fabens High School Veterans Day Ceremony. Thank you Superintendent Vigil and Fabens High School students and staff for such a beautiful tribute to our community’s veterans! Thank you Tornillo ISD for your participation and a special thanks to the Fabens Veterans Park Committee for their dedication and planning to help with this event. What a wonderful regional Veterans Day ceremony!
Visiting Precinct #3
It was wonderful to welcome our seniors back to the Fabens Senior Center! I am very appreciative of Lupe and Rosalva of the Community Services Department for working diligently in re-opening our county centers while keeping our seniors safe! I also got to meet Fabens’ biggest Cowboys fan, Mr. Ontiveros!

Thank you to the Centennial Lions Club for all of their hard work organizing the annual Horizon City Christmas Parade! And thank you to Lucilla Najera and the Penrose Neighborhood Association for inviting me to their November monthly meeting!
Pledge of Allegiance at Commissioners Court
Help us applaud the students who recite the Pledge of Allegiance on Monday mornings at the start of our weekly Commissioners Court meetings. You make us very proud! Thank you!
