Mermaid Parade Street Closures - All Day

Saturday, June 18th

Starts at 8:30 am should end around 9:00 pm

Surf Avenue both East and West bound (West 8th Street to West 24th Street)

All Southbound Traffic from Mermaid Avenue to Surf Avenue - on all side streets - Stillwell Avenue to West 23th Street

All Northbound Traffic cannot be accessed from Surf Avenue - on all side streets - West 8th Street to West 23th Street

Southbound Traffic on Neptune Avenue for West 8th Street & West 12th Street.

New York Horseshoe Crab Monitoring Network

Welcome to the New York horseshoe crab monitoring network. Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Program and Stony Brook University are working with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to coordinate and implement this project.

Listed below are notable planned service diversions that will impact D, F, N and Q service to/from Coney Island for the coming Spring-Summer months. I will keep you apprised if anything changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. We strongly encourage customers to visit our website, Home | MTA or use the MyMTA app for trip planning and real-time service information.


June 17-20, Fri 11:45 PM – Mon 5:00 AM

 

  • N service suspended between Kings Highway and Stillwell Ave
  • Free Shuttle Buses make all stops between Kings Highway and Stillwell
  • Transfer between N trains and shuttle buses at Kings Highway
  • For direct service between Stillwell Ave and Manhattan/Downtown Brooklyn, take the DF, or Q lines

 

PLEASE NOTE FOR MERMAID PARADE SATURDAY JUNE 18

  • To accommodate the parade and activities, N shuttle buses will not operate between 86th and Stillwell Ave.
  • Stillwell-bound: After 86th St station shuttle stop, buses will continue to the Ave X Station for customers to transfer to F service to Stillwell.
  • Kings Highway/Manhattan-bound: Traveling from Stillwell,  N customers take the F train to Ave X and transfer to N shuttle buses.

One weekend, June 25-26

  • D operates to Bay 50th St, shuttle bus between Bay 50th and Stillwell


During this time, alternate service along the Q line will be as follows:

 

Weeknights May 24 until August 19, 11:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.:

  • Q operates in two sections, from 96th Street (Manhattan) to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, and from Prospect Park to Stillwell Avenue. 
  • A free shuttle bus will operate to connect these two sections, between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Prospect Park

 

 

Weekends July 15 until August 15, 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday:

  • Q operates from 96th Street (Manhattan) to Stillwell Avenue via 4th Avenue express (for beach service) AND regular service from Prospect Park to Stillwell Avenue;
  • a free shuttle bus will operate between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Prospect Park stations
The MTA’s contactless fare payment program, OMNY, is coming for Reduced-Fare customers this year!
