Lancaster High School Planning Update
District administrators and architects recently visited four high schools in the Columbus area to examine potential concepts to include in the high school design. The schools visited were Upper Arlington, Westerville South, Westerville Central, and Olentangy Berlin.

Options for extended learning areas, auditorium, gymnasium, field house, food service areas, and wall finishes were among the concepts discussed. Meetings with design specialists have also been held to look at landscape and food service options. Several concepts are being included in the schematic design, which is nearing completion.
Hale to take over as Lancaster superintendent after Wigton retirement
Nathan Hale, assistant superintendent, has been promoted to the new Lancaster City Schools Superintendent of Schools, upon retirement of current Superintendent Steve Wigton this summer.

“To say that I am excited is an understatement,” said Hale. “I’m honored that the board of education has confidence in my ability to continue the strong tradition of learning, caring and succeeding that is the hallmark of Lancaster City Schools.”
