A Message from Your Superintendent...
An Update on the New Lancaster High School
Planning for the new Lancaster High School is well underway. Since November 11, 2020, Lancaster High School administrators and staff have been meeting with a team of architects and engineers from the architectural firm Schorr Architects. In addition, the construction management firm of Summit Construction and Resource International have been involved in the planning process.

There have been over 40 meetings held to date. LHS teachers representing each department including career and technical education have been involved in 23 of those meetings. These meetings also include plans to relocate the athletic fields.

The first planning stage, where size of spaces are determined, is almost complete. The second phase, where a floor plan will be discussed, is being planned along with the first phase. The building layout is to have a “main street” running through the length of the building. On one side of “main street” are the two story classroom wings with career and technical space in the far end. The other side will include all the common areas like offices, cafeteria, gymnasium, field house, auditorium, band rooms and art rooms.

As we complete phases, I will continue to update the community on our progress. Thank you for all your support.

Superintendent Steve Wigton

TALLMADGE

Who knew we had some rock stars in our school?

Miss Dunkel's 2nd grade reading group became rock stars as they played Rock n' Roll Reading. They rolled a die and read a sentence that matched that number on the die. They are truly rock star readers!
GENERAL SHERMAN

At General Sherman Junior High School, our staff members have been trying their best to nominate and recognize fellow staff members who go above and beyond each and every day.

This month's winner is Sam Lucas! Sam teaches 7th and 8th grade physical education and serves as our athletic director!

He is always incredibly friendly, compassionate and generous to our students and our staff. We always know that we can count on Sam to be there for whatever we need, especially if it's a laugh! We are so lucky to have him at General Sherman!
