Dear Friends, Blessed Pentecost and Feast of the Sacred Heart! It is truly a blessing to celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church and the World. Please pray for all the priests of our diocese that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit in a new way this coming year. Please pray in a special way for the 3 newly ordained, Fr. Greg, Fr. Tom, and Fr. Brian (pictured here) that their vocations will be rooted in the most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the power and love of the Holy Spirit. Further, please pray for our seminarians and the men the diocese will welcome this summer. Lastly, this years Totus Tuus program is all about learning to pray. We have a great need to teach our young people how to pray, so I ask you to please consider sending your children or grandchildren to one of the parishes hosting Totus Tuus this summer. World Priest Day - June 24th

World Priest Day (AKA World Day for the Sanctification of Priests) is all about praying for your priest and his sanctification! Every day our priests pray for us and our intentions as they preside over Mass, hear confessions, baptize our children, or bury our loved ones.   Find a way to pray for him, and don’t forget to tell your priest you are praying for him. You never know what he is going through, sacrificing out of love for his parishioners.  Parish Ideas from Vocation Ministry.com: 1. Conduct a prayer drive 2. Hold a Holy Hour in honor of your priest 3. Make an announcement at Mass- if there is a deacon, he can ask parishioners to pray for their priest virtually or in-person 4. Live stream a Rosary for Priests on a Facebook Live or YouTube channel 5. Add prayer for priest in the prayers of the faithful 6. Distribute Prayer for Priest prayer cards  Mass Announcement: Today is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and World Priest Day, which is a day set aside to pray for priests, so we encourage each of you to pray in a special way today for Fr. ________ that he is strengthened and renewed each day as he serves as a priest of Jesus Christ.

Congratulations to our newly ordained priests for the Diocese of Joliet: Rev. Brian Geary, Rev. Thomas Logue and Rev. Gregory Alberts (pictured here with Bishop Hicks). These new priests begin their priestly assignments on July 1, 2022. Fr. Greg is assigned to Visitation, Elmhurst; Fr. Brian is assigned to Holy Family, Shorewood and Fr. Thomas is assigned to St. Raphael, Naperville.
