Follow God

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Christians will find comfort in these words; however, there is also an implied warning to those who do not believe.

Months before Jesus spoke these words, He had healed a man on the Sabbath (John 5:1-14). From that time on, Jewish leaders were bent on defeating Jesus, disclaiming His authority and opposing His message — to the point of trying to arrest Jesus and even plotting to kill Him.

There are many instances where Jesus confronts these so-called religious leaders with harsh truth: “You have never heard [the Father’s] voice”; “You do not believe”; “You refuse to come to me and have life”; “You do not believe what [Moses] wrote”; “You do not know [the Father], but I know him”; “You belong to your father, the devil.”

On multiple occasions, Jesus proclaims that He and God the Father are one, while He declares that these leaders are lost and condemned, separated from the God they claim to follow. In this combative context, Jesus addresses the Pharisees with the words we find in our text.

Looking at this verse, where does the Christian find his or her comfort, and what is the warning for unbelievers? The Christian realizes the Shepherd knows His sheep, and His sheep know and hear Him. He protects them and provides for them. Because they know He is their Shepherd, they naturally follow and obey Him. It is not so for those who are outside of His fold. They come face to face with the same warning of separation and condemnation that Jesus gave to the religious leaders of His day.

Where do you find yourself as you read this? Is Jesus your true Shepherd? Are you obeying and following only Him? If not, receive Jesus as your Shepherd and receive the promise given in John 10:27.

Christmas Letters of Encouragement
A long-standing tradition at RCS during the Christmas season has been for the superintendent to invite our parents to say "thank you" to everyone who ministers to their child at our school. Please take a moment to write an encouraging note and/or make a contribution to the Faculty/Staff Christmas Gift Fund by THIS Friday, 11/30.

Click on the buttons below to use the Christmas Encouragement Letter template to write a word of appreciation to our teachers and staff individually or collectively, and return it to your campus office or the District Office. They love hearing from students and parents, and it is a treasured tradition from year to year!

Or you can write a personal note online, using the web form template.

You may also make a contribution to the Faculty/Staff Christmas Fund.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Operation Christmas Box-
Recap
School-wide, RCS collected 616 Christmas Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child via Samaritan's Purse!

At RCE, Miss Masin’s class served as “Christmas Shoebox Elves” and helped collect the campus boxes and load them in the car to be delivered to the drop off center at 3Crosses Church in Castro Valley.

Student leaders at the MSHS also served their campus by collecting boxes to get to the drop-off center so they could be sent to bless children around the world.
Please remember to pray this Christmas season for the recipients of our Christmas Shoeboxes and for God’s Kingdom to further grow through this ministry!

Get Ready for Continuous Enrollment!
RCS is now introducing
Continuous Enrollment!

Re-enrollment will be a thing of the past, and continuous enrollment will continue until your child graduates from RCS or you let us know otherwise.

Check out the 1.5 minute video below for more info!

Continuous Enrollment is a once-and-for-all process. Once you sign your Continuous Enrollment Contract, you’ll never have to deal with the lengthy re-enrollment (online) paperwork (unless your family plans change). Again, “Set it, and forget it!”

In the event that things do change, you’ll have until February 1st every year to simply notify the District Office and face absolutely no penalty.

More details coming in January.
