Our speaker this year is Dr. Dan Boone, the president of Trevecca Nazarene University. He and his wife, Denise, will be a blessing to us!

Youth Worker Training
NYI wants you to feel equipped and ready for the teens and young adults in your community! We are going to start hosting Youth Worker Training sessions once a quarter. This is a space for anyone interested in teen and/or young adult ministry. No matter if you are a veteran youth worker or someone passionate about starting a new outreach in your community; this is a place for you.
This first session will be hosted by our District NYI President, Pastor Chelsea Fry. The hope is to start networking our different youth workers across the district to help each other with ideas and resources. There will also be some basic information about NYI and ideas for getting youth involved at the local level. In the future, we hope to cover helpful topics such as fundraising, event planning, mentoring, and topics that you submit for interest.

2024 Teen Fall Retreat
Pack your bags, we're heading to Camp Lamoka again! This year's theme for Fall Retreat is "Abide, IRL." with Pastor Tito Rivera bringing the word! Worship is going to be provided by our very own group from Plattsburgh. Bring a journal, your Bible, and an attitude to abide with the Lord for a long weekend getaway.

NDI would like to invite you into a journey of peace with the Peace Initiative.
Conflict is a part of this world. We feel and see it everywhere. However, conflict does not have to be a word with negative connotation. We want to become known as those who create peace - starting first with the church, then allowing that to ripple out into the community. Perhaps peace isn’t what we’ve always thought it was (no more conflict). Perhaps peace is knowing how to respond to the conflict and live together in the tension of being uniquely created. Perhaps peace is more about listening to understand rather than listening to convince another of your side of the argument. Maybe it’s about putting ourselves aside in order to see something in a new light.
With the Peace Initiative, we will work strategically together through things like restorative circles, becoming excellent communicators, and working together in creative ways for reconciliation and resolution. Community will deepen and the wisdom of Heaven will pour out from Upstate as we see the fruit of righteousness blossom from the construction of peace.

FREE Financial Literacy Training!
Trevecca Nazarene University is offering a FREE, video-based financial literacy training to help participants build skills, knowledge, and behaviors that will empower them to make smart, informed decisions about money. The training series is designed especially for pastors, church leaders ,and nonprofit managers but is available to anyone who would like to gain understanding and training in personal finance. It also fulfills the educational requirement for participants in the Compass Initiative, which helps pastors eliminate debt and prepare for retirement. If you’re a district licensed or ordained pastor serving at least 30 hours in a local congregation in Canada or the USA, then the COMPASS Initiative programs are for you! Life Long Learning
Hey Pastors — We are halfway through the 2024-2025 church year!
All pastors are required to complete 20+ hours of Lifelong Learning each year. Now is a good time to update and check your registry. Please list your learning hours on the registry.
If you are new to the district or licensed ministry, please log in and update your district information.
If you are enrolled in a qualified higher education program, you may be exempt from reporting lifelong learning hours.

The Church of the Nazarene is beginning an initiative to network, equip and inform our Nazarene chaplains. The Upstate NY District is doing the same thing, and I am excited to begin this effort. M25 Registration is Open!
M25 is a USA/Canada Regional quadrennial Nazarene conference focused entirely on evangelism. The agenda will include plenary speakers, break-out workshops, affinity group meetings, and corporate worship times. Pastors, lay leaders, and students will leave this conference encouraged, equipped, empowered, and ready to engage in new ways of Bringing People to Jesus.

Blessing Our Community Grant
The Blessing Our Community grants are going fast! To date, we have given over $200,000 to 200+ churches across Canada and the US. At the current rate, the grants will likely run out this fall.
Pastors, please submit your requests to ksenica@usacanadaregion.org soon so you do not miss out on this opportunity!
There are currently $500 non-matching grants available for churches with fewer than 50 people, and $1,000 matching grants for churches of any size.
