Every year, the United States celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. This month-long celebration is dedicated to honoring the contributions and achievements of Hispanic Americans who have played vital roles in shaping our country. Join us at various special events throughout the month to celebrate the rich and diverse heritage of Hispanic Americans and their impact on our society.

Additional Student Parking

We are pleased to announce that additional parking is now available to help make your commute to campus easier!

How to Access Additional Parking:

  • Head north on Mt. Vernon Avenue
  • Turn right onto Esperanza Street
  • Continue to I Street
  • Parking is available in the designated shuttle parking lots on I Street

Shuttle Service Information:

  • A free shuttle is now running every 30 minutes.
  • The shuttle will take you to and from the shuttle parking lots on I Street and the main campus.
  • Shuttle stops are conveniently located at each parking area.

We encourage you to take advantage of these additional parking options and the shuttle service to ensure a smooth and convenient arrival to campus. Map

Apply for Financial aid before September 2 Cal Grant Deadline

We strongly encourage all current and prospective community college students to submit either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) before the September 2 Cal Grant deadline.

Missing this deadline could mean losing access to valuable state-based grants, scholarships, and other funds you do not have to repay—resources that help make college more accessible and affordable. Apply today:

If you are an undocumented student who is AB 540–eligible (nonresident students exempt from paying nonresident tuition):

Financial Aid Reminder – Complete Your Steps!

Have you submitted your FAFSA? That’s a great first step—but don’t stop there! You may still need to complete a few quick tasks to finish your financial aid application.

Here’s how to stay on track:

  • Check Your Status – Log in to SelfService and select “Financial Aid Self Service.”
  • Submit Required Documents – Most forms can be done online through Campus Logic. Click here to submit required documenyts.
  • View Your Award – Once your file is processed, your Financial Aid Award/Offer Letter will be available in SelfServicer.
  • Receive Your Funds – Financial aid is disbursed through BankMobile. Click here to choose how you’d like to receive your money.

Complete these steps early to avoid delays in receiving your financial aid!

The Puente Program is a statewide transfer program that combines counseling, mentoring, and writing to support your academic success. For one year, you’ll take English and student development classes with other Puente students in a supportive community that builds confidence in writing and prepares you to transfer to a four-year university.

Students of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend Puente Day in North Hall 153 on Wednesday, September 3 (10:00 am - 1:00 Pm). Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

College Corps

College Corps is a service opportunity for full-time students at Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College who want to make a difference in their community. As a student volunteer, you’ll work alongside local leaders in the Inland Empire to address critical issues such as K-12 education, food insecurity, and environmental stewardship. In return, you’ll receive valuable benefits, including up to $10,000 for completing 450 service hours in one year, professional development and networking opportunities, and hands-on experience that strengthens your leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills—all while creating meaningful connections and lasting impact. Safe SBCCD Mobil Safety App

This app offers features that are tailored to the safety of students and staff at San Bernardino Valley College. Through the app, you will find quick access to Campus Police and other emergency contact phone numbers, location-sharing, campus maps, emergency flipcharts, report a Tip, report COVID-19 cases, and other support resources.
