The truth matters - Let's stand together
In a devastating blow to public media, the U.S. Senate has approved the President’s request to rescind $1.1 billion in already-allocated federal funding. This funding was essential for KVCR Public Media and hundreds of stations like ours to continue serving our communities.
The bill is now headed to the President’s desk and is expected to be signed into law imminently. When that happens, this funding will disappear on October 1. More

Dr. Anthony Blacksher - Reimagining the world through sociology.
For many students, college is where they begin to question the world around them. For Anthony Blacksher, that journey
started years earlier, while supervising a busy logistics dock. “I came to Sociology because I was trying to make sense of
my own life and my place in the world,” Blacksher explains. “I had started my career in logistics, and every day, I witnessed how our facility and the broader company reproduced patterns of racial, gender, and class stratification. It felt like I had graduated from college, learning about inequality, and then stepped into a workplace where I was suddenly part of reinforcing it. That disconnect shook me.” More

Coach Quincy Brewer’s 400-Plus Wins
When men’s college hoops fans think of coaches who reached 400 wins, their minds may turn to Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski or Kentucky’s John Calipari.
San Bernardino Valley College has its own 400-plus winning coach: Quincy Brewer.
“I’ve been fortunate to have very good players and very good coaches – it’s been a great journey,” Brewer said. “The student-athletes here have made it a great job for me on and off the court.”
Brewer hasn’t had a losing season since he started as SBVC head coach in 2008. His record is 402-109, the most wins for a basketball coach in school history. The Wolverines finished the 2024-2025 season 27-6 and made it to the state semifinals. More
