Big Update for Fall 2026: Common Course Numbering (CCN)
Starting Fall 2026, you may notice some courses in the SBVC class schedule and catalog look a little different. That’s because SBVC is continuing the rollout of Common Course Numbering (CCN) with Phase II—a statewide system that gives the same course numbers to similar classes across all California community colleges. If you heard about CCN last year, that was Phase I. Now, even more courses are being updated as part of Phase II.
Example: COMM 111 – Interpersonal Communication → COMM C1004 – Interpersonal Communication

San Bernardino Valley College Raises Over $1 Million at Centennial Gala
The gala, themed “Centennial Journey,” celebrated the 100th anniversary of the college’s founding. The evening’s total included $55,000 from Stater Bros. Charities and a $500,000 contribution from the Pinky & Joe Brier Foundation. Stater Bros. directed its support toward SBVC’s food pantry and gala efforts, while the Brier Foundation committed to a five-year matching challenge grant to establish an endowed scholarship fund. This fund will support women and underserved SBVC students pursuing careers in aviation.
“The tremendous success of SBVC’s Centennial Gala reflects the deep pride our community has in this college and its students,” said SBVC Foundation Executive Director Mike Layne. “We are grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and partners, whose support will help address students’ basic needs, expand scholarship opportunities, and strengthen pathways to well-paying careers.” More
