Happy Easter Members, Volunteers, Sponsors & Patrons!
Spring is in the air, finally!
Summer Theatre is around the corner

I am so excited about our upcoming theatre season and I can't wait to share all the details with you. Thank you for your patience. It has been very rewarding to speak with so many venues and "creative types" regarding our year ahead. The support has been outstanding. Stay tuned for our BIG announcement on Tuesday!

Our Dan Needles show - True Confessions From The Ninth Concession coming up Thursday, April 25 th - basically sold out as soon as it was announced! Thank you to all who bought tickets! We will have 260 people in our audience. If you did not get tickets, do not worry. We are going to book Dan to come back in the fall!

Where You Are is our first show of the Summer Theatre season. David Nairn is the Director and he tells me the rehearsals are going fantastically well! The set drawings are magical!
I have also seen the set for Summer of '69 and it looks incredible.

Last month, we had a lovely time connecting with our "Friends of Theatre Collingwood" MEMBERS at a special reception we held for them at Boston Pizza in Collingwood, to honour our donors who make an annual contribution up to $1000. It was wonderful to spend time with everyone before the summer season gets underway. Here's a few photos from the party.
It's not too late to renew or become a new Member of Theatre Collingwood! In fact, we have another special Member Event coming up Wednesday, May 1 st when we will celebrate our "Director's Circle" Donors who provide an annual gift of $1000 or above. Your donations receive a 100% charitable tax receipt and help us continue our mission to enrich and entertain the community by presenting and producing live professional theatre.

Thank you for continuing to support YOUR theatre company. This is our 35 th Anniversary Season and we will not let you down. I am putting all my energy into this year and I am asking for your energy as well. If you have not taken out a Membership this year, I would like to personally ask for your support in doing this. Any amount counts. It's more important now than ever. We need your help. The future can be as big and as exciting as we all want to make it!

Happy Spring! Happy Easter! Happy Theatre!

As we announced in March, Theatre Collingwood is taking its 2019 Season LIVE ON LOCATION to unique venues around South Georgian Bay.

We know you're waiting patiently to hear the exact locations for our shows and we promise to make that announcement as soon as we've dotted the 'I"s and crossed the "t"s on our contracts with each of the incredible partners that have joined our cause to present a great season of Summer Theatre!

It's a little leap of faith that we are asking for - but we hope that you will support Theatre Collingwood's 35 th Anniversary Season, just as you've done for all these years. If you haven't yet purchased tickets or your subscription, please reserve your seats and join us for the wonderful shows this summer!

Our Production Sponsor for
Where You Are
Theatre Collingwood is proud that most of our corporate sponsors and donors renew their annual support. Through our Sponsorship Program, we build mutually beneficial relationships that provide an opportunity for companies to meet their philanthropic or marketing objectives while helping Theatre Collingwood continue to bring professional live theatre to the stage. As a Production Sponsor, Wayne Noble shines a spotlight on Noble Insurance and our audiences see their incredible support for our community-based arts organization. THANK YOU!

The Town of Collingwood recently announced that it will no longer manage the popular event known as "the world's largest Elvis Festival". However, Theatre Collingwood is proud to once again provide ticketing for the COLLINGWOOD ELVIS FESTIVAL this year, which also marks the festival's 25 th Anniversary! Devoted attendees started booking tickets when they went on sale last December and and we have seen a quick spike in sales this week. Be sure to get your tickets for this wonderful weekend that always provides a hip-shakin' good time!

OPENING TO THE MYSTERY at the Simcoe Street Theatre on May 1 st promises an evening of storytelling in which Jake McArthur will share an intimate window into a curious series of experiences that he had prior to and following a tragic accident that took the life of his daughter Erica, at the young age of 23. Jake's stories will make you laugh and cry — and contemplate — you'll find reasons to wonder and questions rather than answers. Jake is joined on stage by a Shaman who will respond to the stories and invite observations from the audience. Come and experience one man’s journey of Opening to the Mystery !.

Music fans of all genres are in for an exciting season of entertainment this year! The COLLINGWOOD SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL showcases music performances of the highest calibre catering to a wide variety of audiences, while presenting internationally renowned artists in the fields of classical, jazz and world music beginning mid-July until mid-August. From traditional classical to cool jazz, you are sure to find events that cater to your tastes – including two concerts geared specifically toward families with children.

Volunteers in the Spotlight
Come on out and PLAY!
Theatre Collingwood has a long history of presenting a wide range of professional entertainment and we simply couldn't do it without the numerous volunteers who donate their time, talent and enthusiasm year after year. We proudly recognize the exponential impact of volunteers, all they do for our organization and how they lift up our community!

Our volunteer Board of Directors guide our annual operations and bring unique, professional experience to all aspects of our non-profit business. Many of our volunteers have a long-standing commitment to our company and their efforts are truly appreciated! Among other things, individuals like Ginny Gilbert, pictured top left and Sue Anderson, singing with "Jerry Lewis" below, play major roles in helping us fund-raise.

Other Volunteer roles include:
  • Front of House duties - ushering at performances and greeting patrons
  • Administrative support - to office staff and assisting with special projects, events and outreach programs like our Youth Drama Education camps.
  • Act as Theatre Collingwood ambassadors with your Community Group or Service Club, such as Probus, Rotary, Lions/Lioness, etc.

How do I become a Volunteer?
Submit an application by email or in person and we'll contact you soon!
If you have questions about volunteering, please give us a call and we can put you in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator, Darquise Leroux!
