Walk-A-50 Challenge - RESCHEDULED

The Communications Team has not forgotten about the Walk-A-50, 3K Challenge, originally planned for April.

Once the weather stabilizes and the forecast calls for some consistent days of nice weather, we will pick the date and notify the college community. We hope to have the event in June!

Summer Compressed Schedule

As a reminder, beginning the week of June 2 through August 1, the College will follow a compressed work week, offering services during extended hours Monday-Thursday with no public access to the campuses on Friday. The hours listed below are the public-facing hours of operation for both campuses. Individual employee hours may vary.

General Hours:

Brown Co. Campus and Central Campus: M-Th | 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Student Services (Advising/Financial Aid/Registration/Admissions/Testing): M-Th | 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Student Payments: M-Th | 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Tech Support: M-Th 8 a.m.-4 p.m.*

Bookstore: M- Th | 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

ASPIRE: M – Th | 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Truck Driving Academy: M-Th 8 a.m. -5 p.m.**

*Tech Support will be available on Fridays from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. but not for F2F service

**TDA will be operational Fridays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. but not open for F2F service

"Tiny Beautiful Things" on Stage June 21

SSCC Theatre Company will present “Tiny Beautiful Things,” based on Cheryl Strayed’s bestselling book and adapted for the stage by Nia Vardalos, one night only, June 21 at 7:30 p.m., in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium, Central Campus.

Tickets for “Tiny Beautiful Things” are now on sale for $5 and can be purchased online at www.sscctheatre.com or at the door. Credit cards are accepted for both online and in-person purchases. This production is recommended for mature audiences only.

Kids Career Encounter - 2025 Summer Programming - Register NOW

Classes are filling up quickly for Kids Career Encounter, a summer enrichment program taking place June 24 & 25, 2025 for 4th-8th graders at the Central Campus.

Designed to foster creativity, learning, and personal growth, Kids Career Encounter offers students the chance to learn about different futures. Each 90-minute session is filled with fun activities that relate to one or more of Southern State's programs and a real career pathway!

Registration is still open. Students can choose to attend the morning session, the afternoon session, or the entire day. Each session will consist of 2 career explorations. Spaces are limited for each session. The cost of the program is $25 per session, per student, and includes some cool takeaways. Lunch is provided for students who are attending all day.
