Resume/Cover Letter Workshop For Library Student Employees

Whether you are just getting started or want to get your resume and cover letter in top shape, this is the workshop you. We'll discuss content & design, and focus on effectively reflecting your work experience in the library. The first 30-45 minutes will be content delivery, and the remaining time will be used for hands-on resume and cover letter work. Session is held in a computer lab. Be sure to bring your resume if you have one, and youll get paid and earn Spartan Connect co-curricular credit!

Mindfulness for Beginners

Bringing awareness to everyday experiences through mindfulness can help build resilience in times of stress. Be guided through an introduction to mindfulness practices including meditation, mindful walking and eating, and gentle movement. FREE drop-in series is open to all, especially those with little or no experience. No special clothing required. Classes build on each other with a review each week. The Vagina Monologues, in its seventh year at UNCG, raises awareness about violence against women and activism. You'll be exposed to the issue of interpersonal violence in an effort to encourage action through awareness to end the epidemic and restore the inherent rights of individuals to live free of violation. The show is filled with emotion expect to laugh, feel inspired and hopefully learn quite a bit. A $5 donation is suggested. T-shirts, V-Day themed food, buttons and flowers will be available for purchase with all proceeds go to Clara House/Piedmont Family Services and V-Day Campaign.
Winter Day Hike

Spend a relaxing Saturday hiking around Virginias Blue Ridge Mountains. Located atop Catawba Mountain, you'll take a gradual accent to one of the most photographed spots on the entire Appalachian Trail! McAfee Knob offers 270-degree panoramic views of the surrounding valley and mountains, along with its signature ledge for unforgettable photos. Take a break for lunch and youre sure to get your fill of great scenery and great food. Dont miss out on this gem of a hike!
