Weekly News and Updates

Vacation Bible School will be Monday-Friday, August 1-5, from 9 am until Noon. Children ages 4 years old thru rising 5th graders are invited to learn and play with us. We also welcome volunteers from rising 6th graders to adult.

Click here to register your child or sign up as a volunteer. If you sign up to be a volunteer and are 18 or older, you need the appropriate clearances, and they cannot be expired. Please contact Emma with questions regarding the status of your clearances or how to request them.

Our Good Neighbors Home Repair Inc. crew have been hard at work this week! They've enjoyed rehabbing a house for someone in their community during the day and great fellowship (and food thanks to our volunteers) in the evenings.

Here are just a few shots from our very own phototog, Larry Hess.

Bible Study

“Exploring of our Christian Roots; Growing our Christian Lives”

Wednesdays

10:00 am – 11:30 am, via zoom

We have returned to Marcus Borg in our current reading of “The Heart of Christianity – Rediscovering a Life of Faith.” In this Borg is helping us see how the 21st Century world view can be compatible with belief in God and with seeking a spiritual life.

The Episcopal Church defines Scripture, tradition and reason as the cornerstones of our faith (https://www.epicenter.org/the-episcopal-faith/episcopal-faith/scripture-tradition-and-reason/). These are often described as the legs of a stool. A three legged stool may not have a level seat, but it won’t rock.

What our group is doing is strengthening our appreciation of Scripture and tradition when our reason was telling us “that makes no sense.” The effect is to make the seat more level without letting our faith be rocked.

We welcome new members and hope you will join us for our readings and discussions.
