Pentecost Sunday - 10am

Don't forget to wear red this Sunday to celebrate the birth of Christianity! Our band plays at 9:45am during the gathering portion of worship. Brad Norris will play the organ during the service.

  • Our choir will sing during the service led by our Minister of Music Nellwyn Beamon.

  • David Bonnewell will deliver the sermon.

  • And Rodney Clements, Regina Brisgone and David will perform a skit. (See details in a block below.)

  • Because Pentecost Sunday is an extra special birthday, we’ll be having a birthday party, too. Everyone is invited to stay and have cake.

Looking forward to seeing a sea of red!

* A volunteer is needed to take photos and videos of this wonderful Pentecost Service. You don't need to be a professional. (See details in a block below.)

Children are Welcome

Our Children's Church* takes place each Sunday during worship, following the children's message. Children ages 3 through 5th grade meet down the hall from the sanctuary for an age-appropriate Bible lesson and related craft or activity.

Our nursery* is available for children through age 3.

*Our professional workers are CPR certified, and our staff and volunteers are fully background checked.

*Children's church and nursery are optional. You are welcome to keep your child(ren) in worship with you, if you prefer. Activity bags and rockers, if you wish to use them, are in the back of the sanctuary. A baby changing station is in the lobby.

What's Happening

Whip Out Your Camera!

We are seeking someone to take photos and videos of the Pentecost Service this Sunday, June 8, 2025, starting at 10a.m. You do not have to be an expert, just a willing helper.

Sunday’s service will have our choir singing, a skit, colorful banners, and a rousing postcode! So, the coordinators are so excited that they are hoping to record some video and plenty of photos. They want everyone to be able to share in the joy.

Please contact Rodney Clements, 757-401-0192, rodney.clements2020@gmail.com or Gina Brisgone, 757 202-1369, reginabrisgone67@gmail.com to help out.

Love Offering this Sunday

Gina Brisgone is again collecting a Love Offering to provide keepsakes for women who have lost children to gun violence on behalf of "A Warm Embrace," a Norfolk non-profit that provides support for families that have experienced gun violence.

Your offering will help bring women touched by gun violence to an uplifting event to remember their children, to provide a healing service, and to enjoy the spring and flowers. She will have a basket during and after the service on Sunday. You may also contribute to "A Warm Embrace" using her CashApp account. It is $ReginaBrisgone. She thanks you for anything you are willing to donate!

Pentecost Birthday Party

Let’s celebrate the birth of Christianity on Sunday, June 8, starting at 9:45am with our band! We ask everyone to wear red in celebration of Pentecost Sunday, the day the disciples received the Holy Spirit in a special way.

Looking forward to seeing a sea of red!

  • David Bonnewell will deliver the sermon.

  • Brad Norris will play the organ during the service.

  • Rodney Clements, Regina Brisgone, and David Bonnewell will perform a skit. The skit is titled "Jesus Loves Me." We will learn about the song "Jesus Loves Me" and how His Love impacts Pentecost. Come see the flames flicker, the glittery white doves fly and the word LOVE in 12 different languages. Jesus truly does love each of us unconditionally!

Because it is an extra special birthday, after Worship, we’ll be having a birthday party that lifts spirits! And what would a birthday party be without cake? We don't want to know, so we're serving cake. Everyone is invited!

* “Messy Church” is a DIFFERENT kind of church! It typically includes a welcome, creative time to explore the Biblical theme through “getting messy” with crafts and activities; a short interactive celebration time involving a story, prayer, and music; and a sit-down meal together at tables. The entire experience is designed for people of ALL AGES! Take a look at our Facebook group page to see previous events.

Our 4-year-old students walked onto the stage on Friday to receive their Pre-K diplomas! It was a precious sight. Please pray for the graduating students and their families as they move on to kindergarten.
