Opportunity to Contribute

As members of Open Door Churches, it is safe to say that most, if not all of us have been touched by the talents of Sarah Katreen Hoggatt. As our Communications Director, her dedication to us and her commitment to her work has been extraordinary. What began as our dream for a communications expert has evolved into one of the most valued positions on our staff. Sarah is responsible for the text and graphics for this informative newsletter. She also creates the live stream video that enables us all to participate in worship every week.
The position allows for 25 hours weekly, half of which are required to produce the video. The newsletter requires an hour and the remaining time is dedicated to poster design, website, and blogs.
The Communications Director salary is currently funded through a bequest donated by Englewood UMC. We recognize the need to establish long term funding for this valuable position and are offering each of us the opportunity to contribute toward this special account. Please prayerfully consider a donation, perhaps a monthly commitment to ensure the permanence of our Communications Director.
Gratefully
Vickie Plasker, Chair ODC Board

We are having lent kits for individuals and families that want to do them. The kits are weekly activities similar to the ones we did during advent. There is also a Labyrinth Meditation for Ash Wednesday and activities for holy week. People can choose to get the entire kit or only certain parts if they wish. This is also something that can be done by individuals as well as families. If interested please let Tes Lacy know. Also let her know the number of kids and/or if an individual so that she can make sure how much supplies are included. Her email is morninsideprogram@gmail.com.

Christian Education Opportunities
|
|
Christian education is our invitation to understand God’s world and our experience in that world in deep and transformational ways. We will not be able to gather in person this winter, while our country and our communities engage in urgent conversations about racism, police brutality, power, government, creation care, and so much more. We want to provide opportunities for us as a faith community to learn, discuss, and inspire one another toward action for justice. As we begin the new year many of our classes are regrouping or changing topics, that makes for a great time to join a new class.
Prayers of the Heart - Meets via Zoom every Sunday at 9am
This group gathers to share a short reading, a time of meditation, and lectio divina. Contact Dennis Lundeen ddlundeen@gmail.com for the Zoom link.
