Since 1983, April has been proclaimed Cancer Awareness Month. According to the CDC, cancer has been one of the top 2 causes of death in the US for over 75 years. While the medical field continues to make advancements in cancer research and treatment, understanding the importance of early detection and living a healthy lifestyle can have significant impacts on individuals and communities.

Radiation-generating machines are crucial for cancer screenings and treatments. Common radiation therapy treatments include 3D conformational radiation therapy, which uses 3D scans to identify the shape and size of a tumor, brachytherapy, which involves implanting radioactive material within the body, and proton therapy, which aims a beam of protons directly at the tumor.
