Our First Shabbaton in Mitzpe Ilan

Just before the chagim, we took 60 lone soldiers and lone bnei sheirut on our first shabbaton.

We are so grateful to Chava and Meir Katz and the entire community of Mitzpe Ilan who graciously hosted us for the weekend. Some of the participants even went back to their host families for Succot.

Read what some of the participants had to say.....

"This was so fun, thanks to everyone who helped put this together. It was nice to meet u guys!"

Thank you very much for this wonderful Shabbat that you arranged for us

Everything was perfect and stunning and what a wonderful reception! I have never seen such love for Israel in my life! The residents of the Mitzpe Ilan opened their homes to us as if we were family! They welcomed us with warmth and love -l, personally was really amazed by this beauty and I have only one thing to say, I can't wait for our next shabbaton. I also had a lot of fun getting to know each and every one of you, even though my English isn't so good, as i'm French"

Memorial Wall for fallen lone soldiers dedication

Last Monday evening, The Michael Levin Base put up a special piece of art work dedicated to the lone soldiers who fought and died during the Swords of Iron War.

The mural, painted by the talented Michelle Levy, consists of 32 hearts with the names of each soldier, each with their own stories, and legacies that were tragically cut short.

October at The Michael Levin Base

Over the Chagim we hosted over 400 lone soldiers and lone bnei sheirut for meals.

These meals are an essential part of the Michael Levin Base and we are bursting at the seams!

We also gave out 170 sets of lulavim and etrogim.

Many of the soldiers who were off base just for a few days, came to pick theirs up to take back to base to share with their unit.

Hodi, our Bnei sheirut advisor and coordinator, visited lone bnei sheirut at Hadassah hospital this past week.

Taking some time to check in with them, giving them a quick break from their work with coffee and cakes and just being there to support them.

Thursday was a 'Back to School' event for the many lone soldiers and lone bnei sheirut who are starting university this week. Many of the lone soldiers have been on reserves duty and needed a chance to chill before going back to studies.

Good luck to everyone!

Thanksgiving and Winter supplies

Winter is coming and our lone soldiers are out in the battlefield. Help us to keep them warm by supplying them with softshell jackets, thermals, hats, socks, hand warmers etc.

We will also be hosting a Thanksgiving dinner as well as sending out packed dinners to lone soldiers on base.

Thank you for keeping us warm!
