New Business in Guthrie Center!
Precision Components, an Atlantic based company has added a new location in Guthrie Center. The company specializes in equipment reconditioning and an industry leader in replacement parts for the aerial equipment industry. The new location in Guthrie Center is now taking applications and hiring immediately.  

Greater Des Moines Partnership
Midwest Partnership has joined the Greater Des Moines Partnership. The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s economic development team will assist MWP on business expansion projects and relocation projects from outside the Greater Des Moines (DSM) region. With this addition, the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s economic development work now serves 10 counties representing 792,000 people.

Strategic Planning Meeting
On September 5th we will be holding two in-person Strategic Planning sessions and asking for your input related to economic development goals. There will be one session at Panora Telco from 9:00-10:30 AM and another at Hotel Greenfield from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM. If you havent had the chance to complete our short questionnaire please take the time to do so!

Events and News Happening Near You
Western Iowa Advantage Housing Summit
The WIAD Housing Summit will also feature speakers from rural Western Iowa communities who have successfully completed housing projects in their small towns. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at the Carrollton Inn in Carroll. Registration begins at 8:30!

Start-Up In Stuart
On September 19th Stuart will be touring through all the available buildings. The buildings will be open from 11:30-5:00. Registration forms, treats, and beverages will be at the Stuart Depot. A social hour will then be held from 5:00-6:30 at the Stuart Depot. Entrepreneurs, Developers, Investors are all welcome! Click on the link below to register!

Feature Ready Iowa Summit
Gov. Reynolds announced 27 collaborative, public-private partnership events will be taking place to help Iowa build a skilled workforce for the future. From Sept. 4 to Nov. 1, 2019, Future Ready Iowa Employer Summits will be taking place across the state.These summits are hosted by employers for employers and will hopefully provide you with the information to take the next step to build your workforce. 

Travel Iowa Grants
The ITG program promotes tourism in Iowa by funding tourism-related marketing initiatives, meetings and events that benefit both local economies and the state's economy. Applications are available annually, and preference will be given to those that support the overall marketing plan of the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) in terms of its target audiences and messaging. Applications are available online now and due at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25.

Alliant Energy Grant
Alliant Energy Foundation funds projects that fit into one of three focus areas: Helping Families, Education and the Environment. Grant applications are accepted in February and August of each year. Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000 to support programs and projects making an impact in Alliant Energy communities.
