Domestic Violence Program Award 

In November, Child & Family Center was recognized at the annual LA County Domestic Violence Awareness Month Breakfast and Awards Ceremony. We were honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from Dr. Barbara Farrer, for our work supporting domestic violence victims and survivors.


Tiffany Thomas, our Division Director of Specialty Programs, was there to accept the award along with several other staff members. We are proud of our work in the community, helping to support those who have no where else to turn during a cortical point in their lives.

 

Last fiscal year (July 2022-June 2023) we:

  • Answered 3461 crisis calls through our 24-hotline
  • Provided 315 shelter nights
  • Provided over 1800 individual and group counseling sessions to survivors
  • Provided support to law enforcement and hospitals when called upon
  • Supported 140 survivors with legal assistance in filing restraining orders and protective custody orders

Thanksgiving for our Families

We were able to make sure over 130 of our families received Thanksgiving dinners to take home and share with their families this year! A special thank you to Hello Auto Group, Boston Scientific Corp and Samuel Dixon Family Health Center for making sure these families could have an amazing Thanksgiving by donating turkey's and all the fixings! We are so appreciative and grateful for you!

C&FC is very proud of our two 40 Under 40 winners, Tiffany Thomas and Leah Parker. The work they do to support the community is so incredibly impactful and inspiring.

Child & Family Center CEO, Nikki Buckstead, sat down with SCVTC Community Corner hosts Carrie Lujan and Dave Caldwell to discuss C&FC upcoming Viva Las Vegas fundraiser as well as shared tips on how to combat common seasonal stressors during the holidays and where to find support.

Adopt- a- Family

Adopt-a-Family 2023 was a HUGE success this year and it was all because of you! Not only did we meet our goal, but we exceeded it and were able to support additional families in need. The families and kids who are in the most need and participate in our programs will have an amazing holiday because of your generosity. We are so grateful to the businesses, civic groups and individuals who donated. YOU helped make a difference!

The holiday season can be a stressful one. From feeling anxious, lonely, overwhelmed or depressed, this time of year can often feel like a pressure cooker.

Child & Family Center’s Pathways to Recovery Program is an outpatient substance use treatment program, which provides services that are available to those aged 12 years and older and are recipients of Medi-Cal and live within LA County. If you are uninsured, our team can help determine if you are eligible for Medi-Cal and help you enroll if you qualify.


Our team of experienced and knowledgeable professionals believe each client deserves to be treated with compassion and acceptance. We strive to provide our clients with the necessary skills and understanding of their substance use to help prevent relapse and continue long-term sobriety and recovery.
