On behalf of Diabetes Youth Services, I would like to wish a fond farewell to our Executive Director Beth Ruf. During Beth’s three plus years of leadership of DYS, she has worked to significantly improve and increase our programs and services. DYS expanded its outreach into the Findlay area and Michigan, had more campers attend our Hot Shots camps than ever, produced our first educational video for use by school staff, increased the number of school visits and webinars, and established an annual school nurses conference. She also helped initiate our Findlay Dia-Derby fundraiser and our 1
st
ever Blue November Night gala. We will certainly miss the enthusiasm, creativity, passion and warm and friendly demeanor she brought to the position. We wish her and her family all our best and much happiness as they start their new life in Alabama.
-Clare Armbruster: Chair, Board of Directors
"For the last three years, I have had the great honor of working with all of the wonderful families, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors at DYS. We have done some great things together.
It is with great sadness that I have to say good bye to you. My husband has been relocated to Birmingham, AL, and my family and I will be joining him in a couple weeks.
The board has been working hard to find a fabulous new Executive Director, and I believe that they have succeeded. Beginning this week, Linda Leinbach Mays will be joining the DYS family.
For the next couple of weeks Linda and I will be working together to facilitate a smooth transition. I am sure she will do a wonderful job and take DYS to the next level. Please stop in, say hello, and welcome her with all of the care and support that you have welcomed me. I am looking forward to my new adventure, but will miss all of you terribly."
Best wishes,
Beth
