Girls Scholarship Program Expands
June 2018
There's a lot happening this year for education in Sierra Leone -- and in our own girls scholarship program.

We thought it deserves a preview before our annual scholarship campaign starts in July.

We began the scholarship program five years ago with a modest goal of sending a small number of girls to one school. With your support, it's grown by leaps and bounds.

You've shown you feel as we do: one the best ways to make a positive difference in the world is to educate girls. It changes girls' lives and speeds development of their country. And gives one of the biggest returns on the dollar of anything we can do.

A new Sierra Leone government was recently elected and it is making education its first priority. Likewise, Sherbro Foundation has been working with our local SL partner CCET to offer more services to make girls successful in school. Our goal is remove the barriers to girls progressing to senior high and graduating.

See below for how far we've come and what's new for the 2018-19 school year. Then look for the kick-off to our 2018 scholarship campaign later in July.

Have a wonderful summer.
