Where do Vicar's go? And what is next for Vicar Aaron?
Every vicar leaves GLC after one year of service. But where do they go, and what do they do? Typically vicars either return to seminary for a final year of school, or (if they have already graduated) they start the “call process” where synod bishops connect them with churches looking for pastors. After all the steps of the call process are completed, the vicar becomes pastor of the new church they’re called to!
However, I (Vicar Aaron) have a different plan ahead of me. Instead of beginning the call process, I’ll be working at the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC) as the Interim Program and Engagement Manager. This role gives me an opportunity to apply my ministry learnings from this year at GLC while I take my time to finish the last parts of the candidacy process before entering the call process.
