Fine Art Photographer Judith Secco will show her photographs at the Woodbury Public Library January 3 - 30th. A reception for the artist is scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Judith Secco, a native of Connecticut's Northwest corner, is an avid self-taught photographer. Developing her own technique using layers, textures, and composites of more than one photograph, she gives her images a unique quality, enhancing nature's beauty with an artist's eye and neutral background, bringing nature to life. Shooting a variety of subjects, including Connecticut farms, barns, landscapes, flowers, animals, and still life, Judith's work finds its balance between photography and fine art. She has won numerous awards for her work, which has been shown throughout New England. The photography exhibit will be on view during regular library hours.

Pendulum Power Workshop

Join the Grounded Goodwife duo, Ehris Urban and Velya Jancz-Urban, for "Pendulum Power!" a workshop that helps you to trust your intuition. Pendulums aren't fortune telling tools, but when approached with a responsible attitude, they reveal useful information. A pendulum is simply a way of getting answers to questions your brain can't answer. The workshop is a mix of theory and practical, fun exercises, and includes a take-home pendulum for each participant. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, registration is required for the workshop.

Screenagers - Growing up in the Digital Age

SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age, a documentary about the biggest parenting issue of our time will be screened at the Woodbury Library.
SCREENAGERS addresses the most pervasive parenting issue of our time head on-depicting teen struggles over social media, video games and internet addiction. The film empowers kids to best navigate the digital world and provides practical resources to help them do it.

New Estate Planning Opportunities

Attorney Calabrese will discuss dramatic changes in CT Law that have increased the flexibility and utility of Powers of Attorney in CT. He will also discuss how the CT Uniform Limited Liability Company Act has strengthened liability protection for Connecticut LLC's. Dom will present how the changes in these laws can be used to assist us in estate planning, drawing on his 17 years on the bench and 24 years as a practicing attorney.

Cuba; Revolution vs. Embargo: A PowerPoint with Ira Mickenberg

Ira Mickenberg M.D. will give a presentation "Cuba: Revolution vs. Embargo" at the Woodbury Public Library on Tuesday, January 21 t 7:00 pm. After his retirement from his Southbury medical practice in 2009, Ira and his wife Pat have traveled frequently. They returned from a trip to Cuba with Road Scholar in November, 2019 just as the US severely restricted travel to Cuba. Their Cuban based guide provided them with an evaluation of the status of the current day Cuban population. Ira will relate this information with the help of a slide show of the Cuban countryside. Emphasis will be on the effects of the revolution of 1959 compared to the effects of the US embargo of 60 years on the Cuban people. Cuba in 2019 appears in many ways to exist in a different era politically, socially and materialistically from the rest of the Western World. The program is open to all interested people but registration is required.

Annual Christmas Tree Burn
Saturday, January 18th
at 6:00 PM
The Woodbury Fire Department will hold it's annual "CHRISTMAS TREE BURN" on Saturday, January 18th at 6:00 PM in the field next to the firehouse.
Used "real" trees can be dropped off in front of the fire house in the designated area the weeks after December 25th.
The WFD asks that trees NOT be left in the parking lot or ON the bank near the lot.
ALL trees must be placed on the pile.
The Woodbury Fire House is located at

DONUTS and HOT CHOCOLATE will be served
during the burn!
