Meet Grant Recipient
Quarry Trail Elementary
Visual & Performing Arts
With a Community Arts Grant awarded by the ACPC Grant Committee, Ms. Andrea Grizey, the Visual And Performing Arts Instructor, was able to purchase glazes for student ceramic projects, Dancing Scarves for performing, and Kalimbas (shown here) for learning notes, pitch, and reading music.
"As a brand new school, we would not have been able to provide glazes for the ceramic projects the students created in Visual and Performing Arts this first year. For many students, clay is their favorite project and they love how they look after they have been glazed! Scarf dancing and Kalimbas will allow us to enhance the Performing Arts aspect of our program in ways that we would not have been able to do without this grant."

Meet the Artist
Melissa Arendt
Lifelong California artist, currently living and working in Auburn, California.
"In my work, I am often interested in portraying the visual variety of Earth’s occupants, environments and objects by assembling them together within my art. I create art that tells the story of a place and is a visual reflection of its community, culture and environment. Ultimately, my work serves as a fragmented record of life on Earth, presenting assorted components that make it such a fascinating, complex, absurd and cherished place.
