Announcement: Student Ministry Intern for the Summer
I have some VERY exciting news for you today! Several months ago, we announced that Allisonville will be hiring a "Student Ministry Intern" this summer to support primarily our Faith Formation Ministry alongside gaining practical ministry experience in a healthy, supportive congregation. The hiring team consisted of me, Rachael Jacobs, Levi Wagner, and Liz Young- and I first want to thank them immensely for their dedication and hard work on this. We are so grateful to have received a number of incredible applicants, and have made our selection! We are BEYOND thrilled to welcome Dominic Minatel this summer! Read more about him below, and watch your email on Friday for an introduction directly from him! If you want to know more, feel free to reach out to me. I cannot WAIT to welcome Dominic in just a couple of months! I think y'all will very much enjoy getting to know him, and no, I promise we did not choose him just because of where he's gotten his education (that's just an exciting bonus, 😉). Stay tuned for ways that we can all offer a wide and loving welcome for him soon!
Peace and blessings,
Rev. Josh Jackson

Dominic is a life-long member of Geist Christian Church, our dear friends across town, and is currently a first-year student at Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville. He graduated from Texas Christian University, and TCU's John V. Roach Honors College, in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts double-major in Religion and Communication Studies. Dominic brings a wealth of experience with him and has a strong call to youth ministry as his vocation. He has a very clear passion for students of all ages and backgrounds and has an energy that our kids will love! He can't wait to get started and is already quite excited for his summer here with us!

Easter Egg Hunt: Come and Serve our Community!
Saturday, April 4 | 10am (Volunteers arrive at 8:30am)
Our Easter Egg Hunt is just around the corner and we need YOUR help with it! If you have kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, neighbors, etc., in 5th grade and below- invite them! It is a super fun, safe place for all to enjoy some Easter fun. Next, serve alongside us to help make it happen. The Easter Egg Hunt is one of our biggest events of the year and it takes a lot of us. There are plenty of opportunities to serve the day of the event, but the biggest thing right now is filling the Easter eggs. You can get those from the Narthex! Reach out to Rev. Josh Jackson or Liz Young if you have any questions. Thanks for helping us welcome our neighbors!

Flocking Fundraiser for Mission Trips
Want to send a flock of flamingos to somebody's yard AND support a great cause at the same time? The Flocking fundraiser for our mission trips is here!
Here's how it works:
- Make a gift of $25 (or more) to send a flock of flamingos to someone
- They will remain there until they pay $25 (or more) to move them
- If you get flocked, consider passing on the fun and flocking someone else!
- If not, the youth ministry will move the flamingos after a couple of days
- You may purchase Flocking Insurance for $50 to prevent your yard from getting flocked
You can (and should) definitely send the flamingos to non-ACC members! If you know someone who would enjoy being a part of our community, or someone you've been wanting to invite to church, this is a great and fun way to share some of our fun with them! Use the button down below to flock someone, or fill out the forms in the Narthex and place them in the basket. Reach out to Rev. Josh Jackson with any questions, and let the flocking begin!

You can put them in touch with Josh and send them the registration link for the right trip! Students who are currently in 5th-7th grades are going to Louisville, May 31-June 3, and students in 8th-12th grades will be going to Atlanta, June 14-20.

A note from the Powell and Young families....
Dear Allisonville Christian Church Staff and Members,
We want to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible support you have shown our family during Jim's illness and rehabilitation. We are so thankful for the prayers, kindness, and outreach we received from this community. You all have followed the "ask and you shall receive" motto - from meals, to hospital snacks, phone chargers, communion, luggage moving, airport Uber rides and so many notes, texts, cards, and words of love. Your support has meant so much to us during this difficult time. Thank you again for your compassion and for keeping us in your thoughts.
With many thanks,
The Powell and Young families

Disciples 101 is a way for people within the ACC community to learn more about our broader tradition. We have revamped the offering to meet on a quarterly basis (rather than a multi-week class). Every three months there will be a new conversation about who we are as Disciples.
Our next session is happening on Sunday, April 26th at 12pm. We’ll provide a light lunch (pizza and salad) and a fantastic discussion focused on the history of our denomination. Rev. Peter Morgan, an ACC member and the retired president of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society, will co-lead the discussion with Pastor Beau.
Please note, we are utilizing a new platform for registration, so it may look a little different. If you have any questions, please call the office at 317-849-3957.

JOYS
- We celebrate Betty Duggan's 102nd birthday!
- We want to offer special thanks to Dave Stansifer, Kendal Nagy, and others who helped clean up a tree that fell on a neighbor's property during the storm last week.
CONCERNS
- Our prayers are with those whose lives have been upended in the Middle East. We join Christians around the world in praying for peace in Iran, Lebanon, and other places where war is raging. May we continue to be a witness to the world that redemption is found not in violence, but in love.
- Our Preschool Director search continues, and we want to lift up the search committee and the excellent work they are doing as we consider who will be found as the next leader for our wonderful preschool.
- We pray for those in our community who are facing concerns and worries, including Robert Keltner, Jim Powell, Don Burrell, Vernon Scott, and Jerry and Sandy Zimmerman.
-
Our Global Ministries prayer partner this week is India.

On April 11th, ACC and the Shalom Zone is sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity Panel Build. We'll erect most of a house on site that will then be transported to a permanent location where it will provide shelter to a family. It's one small, but significant way we can love our neighbors and put a roof over their heads.
To accomplish this, we're going to need close to 50 volunteers, which we believe we can fill with all of our Shalom Zone congregations, but WE NEED YOUR HELP! Attached is a graphic that you can share with a link and QR code for signing up. There are two different shifts and tasks that people can help with across all ages and abilities.
If swinging a hammer isn't your thing, we'd love some volunteers to help donate bottles of water and snacks for the volunteers. If you're interested, please email Pastor Sarah (and expect a response when she's back in office next week).
