STORIES OF SERVICE DAY OCTOBER 23, 2015  
 
From World Wars to Korea, Vietnam, to the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan and Iraq, veterans saw what few others did. But many veterans don't talk about their experiences. That may be because we've never asked. 
 
Learn what you won't always find in the history books. WQPT is interviewing veterans for inclusion in the Library of Congress Veteran's History Project. 
 
Help us preserve history by sharing your story on October 23rd at one of our local Stories of Service sites.

Rock Island Economic Growth Corportation Offers New Home to Selected Veteran  

 
A recently built home sits off 30th Street in the College Circle Neighborhood, awaiting its new owner!

The home is available for purchase by any veteran. There is a $10,000 grant being offered to any interested veteran to be used toward the down payment.

In addition, veterans may meet eligibility for additional assistance through the Live-Work Rock Island program (if they work on the RI Arsenal, or another DARI member company), which may provide an additional down payment and closing cost assistance.

Skip-A-Long Takes Enrollment 
Military financial assistance available 

Skip-A-Ling Moline and Rock Island Campuses are enrolling for preschool ages 3-5, six weeks old to12 years old for full-day, five-day care and before/after school care.  

Military financial assistance available to many branches, including recruiters, DoD civilians, and National Guard, along with Army, Coast Guard and several others.
