Main Street District Construction Update

Lake Zurich Replacing 70 - 90 Year-Old Pipes

Boring operations under the railroad tracks on South Old Rand Road have resulted in a complete closure of the crossing, which is expected to re-open by November 3.

Intermittent closures of the street itself will continue through the end of November.

Of course, construction is heavily influenced by weather which may push the completion date later into the year.

The existing aged underground infrastructure (often 70-90 years old in this project!) will be replaced to improve the overall integrity of the water and sewer system while also improving water quality.
