Deuteronomy 26:1-2 - "When you have come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess and you possess it and settle in it,

you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from the land that the LORD your God is giving you, and you shall put it in a basket and go to the place that the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for his name.

IN THIS ISSUE

Dr. Adkins has been an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for 35+ years. She holds the M.Div. from Princeton Seminary, and the D. Min. from McCormick, and has served churches in San Antonio, San Angelo, New Braunfels, and Dallas. Since 2008, she has served as (very) part-time pulpit supply in a number of small churches in Grace Presbytery.

Dr. Adkins also has an M.A. and Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from Southern Methodist University. She has also completed many undergraduate and graduate hours in music and has sung in church and community choirs since the age of 13. Currently she serves as the very part-time Theologian in Residence for the Church Music Institute in Dallas.

You are welcome to join our Prayer Gathering and add your spirit to our prayers for those in need of a little extra attention from God.

WHAT? We're scheduling an all-church workday

WHEN? Saturday, 4/5/25. 

TIME: From 9AM to roughly noon. 

LIST OF TASKS

Prep and paint front

of mowing shed.

Pull out dead bushes around education wing.

Dead bushes

Dead bushes

Clean up the bases of crepe myrtles and other bushes.

Level a stump.

Plant some native plants in the front of the church including the parking lot triangle area.

Trim up low hanging

tree limbs.

Re-stripe the main parking lot.

If someone(s) would like to “adopt” a task, just let Ted McKown know. If you're interested in planting a few new native plants, we can collect donations to use to purchase or reimburse you later. Please keep your receipts. 

Also, please bring any tools you feel may help with any of the listed tasks. 



Soooo….put this workday on your calendar to help for an hour or two. Dress for the weather and the work. I’m sure if you stay until noon a group of folks will organically form to go to lunch together!

• Prayer for Hearing

After service, a stranger approached the pastor and said, “I’d like you to pray for my hearing.”

The pastor touched the man’s ears and said a passionate, earnest prayer.

“How’s your hearing now?” the pastor asked.

Surprised, the man said, “Well, it’s not until tomorrow.”
