Remember Those Plants?

Early this spring, the Church Council began talking about ways St. Matthew's can start to do some things differently to thrive and become relevant, relatable, responsible and refreshing in today's world. In response, council members planted some seeds in pots to represent various ideas discussed during the retreat. The seeds sprouted and grew and are now starting to bloom! In a similar way, some of the ideas initially discussed by the Church Council are beginning to sprout and grow, an example being the kick-off last week of 2 new task forces: 'Community Engagement' and 'Growing Younger.'

God is the source of our nourishment. Jesus’ invitation to “take and eat . . . take and drink” is a repeated one. In holy communion, in the word read and proclaimed, in the assembly of the people of God, the dominion of God has come near. Rejoice! Your name is written in heaven.
