Experiencing God's Grace

On the first Sunday of Lent, everyone was given a nail to represent our sin as a reminder that it was not the people 2000 years ago that crucified Christ, but rather it is us. We get to acknowledge that because we know God's response to us is never condemnation but always forgiveness and grace. When placing the nail in the plate at the altar, we are reminded that God knows us even better than we know ourselves.

Lent 2#worldlovinggod

In this Sunday’s gospel Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born of water and Spirit. At the font we are a given a new birth as children of God. As God made a covenant with Abraham, in baptism God promises to raise us up with Christ to new life. From worship we are sent forth to proclaim God’s love for all the world.
