Yes, Burgess Advertising turned 35 in January...but we were too busy turning cartwheels for our clients and building for our future to celebrate!
In some ways, we feel like we're just getting started—which is always a good approach to our business. As you'll read below, we've added an enthusiastic and experienced new member to our team, Charlie Clement as Brand Strategist and Creative Director, and just launched a new awareness campaign for PCHC (Penobscot Community Health Care).
The only important thing we have to say on turning 35 is Thanks! to all the clients who have made it possible. We look forward to working with you for another good while.

Welcome, Charlie!
Meet our brand-new Brand Strategist and Creative Director
|
Charlie Clement brings to Burgess 35 years of experience creating memorable campaigns across all media: from TV, radio and print, to websites and digital ads.
After working as a writer-producer for three large Midwestern agencies, he launched his own branding consultancy, Clement Creative, which for 25 years served regional and national clients in business-to-business and professional services markets, including Medical Mutual Insurance Company of Maine.
He has also served as a consultant to several Portland agencies creating campaigns for Central Maine Power Company, Hardy, Wolf & Downing, Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Maine Turnpike Authority, and more. At Burgess, he will help strategize, direct and write marketing campaigns to help all our clients achieve their business goals.
Charlie is now on-board, working closely with Oliver Payne, our Creative Director for many years, to ensure a smooth transition for our clients. Oliver was a co-founder of the agency, after ten years in New York—do the math, and you'll understand why he is planning to retire in the not-too-distant future...leaving Burgess Advertising's creative future in Charlie's capable hands.

Caring for All of You:
PCHC launches its first major
TV campaign
|
Penobscot Community Health Center (PCHC) is an amazing resource that not enough people have known about—till last month, when we helped them launch their first major multimedia awareness campaign, themed "We care for all of you." Maine's largest FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) system, PCHC makes quality primary care—and more—available to everyone, regardless of age, background, or insurance status, from Belfast to Greater Bangor and all the way to Jackman.
The "and more" is remarkable, including dental, chiropractic, mental health, PT and dozens of other specialized services. If you live in or around Penobscot, Waldo or Somerset counties, you’ll be hearing (and seeing) how PCHC Cares for All of You in our TV spots, digital and print ads, and even bus signs.
The campaign has received very positive feedback almost immediately—as so often seems to happen in Maine more than anywhere else! Learn more at PCHC.com.

Dear Friends,
We may not look 35 years old any more, but we are—as a company: we opened our doors in January of 1987 as Burgess, Brewer, Stanyon & Payne.
|
We're proud to have thrived all these years by creating effective and creative campaigns for wonderful clients, from The Samoset Resort and Penobscot Shoe, to Oakhurst Dairy, Mercy Hospital, MEMIC and Efficiency Maine, to New England Cancer Specialists, Maine Municipal Association and Penobscot Community Health Center...to name just a few.
We've been too busy to celebrate this milestone in style, but would love to show you what we've done lately if you are looking for fresh creative ideas, the latest in digital media and other marketing strategies—plus the wisdom of 35 years' experience. Just give me a call at (207) 831-5227 to discuss how we can help your brand or organization.

I enjoy Sugarloaf for many reasons: it all starts with the skiing, of course, but right up there is the annual Sugarloaf Charity Summit, held this year on Saturday, January 29th. We raised the incredible sum of $320,000, with proceeds going to the Maine Cancer Foundation, the Dempsey Center and the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Burgess was a proud sponsor and created all the promotional material to boot.

Now it’s time to turn our sights to the 15th Annual Tri for a Cure, a women-only sprint triathlon to be held this year on Sunday, July 10th, at Southern Maine Community College. There is still room for women to sign up for this first live Tri since before the pandemic. Visit Triforacure.org for more info or to register.
Thank you to everyone who supports our efforts and raises funds to fight cancer in Maine.
