MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

Dear ,

Welcome to the first day of our fall term classes. I hope you have had a good start to your day, and would like to reassure you that I and my team are here to support you at every step of the way on our transition back to campus. I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead of us with our return to in-person academic activities.

In case you missed it on social media, I hope you will take a moment to see my welcome back to all of the members of our community.
Supporting our community is my top priority, and it is important that we stay in close communication and take care of one another as well as ourselves. We will be in touch with you regularly on our social media channels, in this What’s Up Artsci biweekly newsletter, and at events such as town halls, celebrations, and non-academic events, which we will continue to hold online as well as in-person, following public health guidelines.

Also, as a reminder, our Senior Leadership Team for the 2021-2022 year is composed of the following faculty and staff members:

  • Lynda Jessup, Vice-Dean (Faculty Relations)
  • William Nelson, Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning)
  • Jill Atkinson, Associate Dean (Academic) until December 30, when Associate Dean Jenn Stephenson returns from sabbatical
  • Warren Mabee, Associate Dean and Director (School of Policy Studies)
  • Nicholas Mosey, Associate Dean (Research)
  • Sharon Regan, Associate Dean (Graduate Students and Global Engagement)
  • Amitava Chowdhury, Special Advisor to the Dean
  • Cormac Evans, Executive Director (Finance and Operations)
  • Patricia Jelinski, Executive Director (Communications and Marketing)
  • Sarah Roth, Executive Director (Development)

Please continue to visit the Queen’s Safe Return to Campus website for up-to-date information on public safety information, vaccination protocols, and FAQs.

I look forward to hearing from you and to communicating with you regularly as we progress through the fall term together.

Please stay healthy and safe.

Sincerely,
Barbara

SEEES UPDATE: THOUGHTEXCHANGES CLOSING SOON

ThoughtExchanges for Finance, Advancement, and Communications and Marketing will close this Friday, September 10 at 4:30 pm. Many new ideas have been added over the past two weeks, so don’t miss this chance to see what your colleagues are saying (and share some ideas of your own) as FAS works towards developing a Strategy for Excellence, Equity & Enrichment in Service (SEEES).

Looking ahead to our Human Resources focus group on Monday, September 20 (sign-up online), we’ve also set up a new exchange on this topic for your input:

Participating in these exchanges is quick, confidential, and essential to helping us prioritize next steps. Please contact Maryanne Wainman, Project Manager, Organizational Design [email protected] with any questions about the SEEES project or the above opportunities.
