Event Spotlight: Boundaries Workshop
Because relationships are a key component of ministry, the synod office offers trainings for rostered leaders (required every five years) and other church staff (optional) on appropriate boundaries. Learn more
 God's Work. Our Hands.
Each congregation chooses ways to engage the community as part of "God's Work Our Hands" Sunday. This year the ELCA suggests September 8 as the common Sunday for events.
The ELCA is guided by life in Christ to share the love of Jesus and serve the neighbor. On "God's work. Our hands." Sunday, congregants join together as one church to help restore and reconcile communities in Jesus' name.

The ELCA offers resources to help congregations get started with planning. 
Reflection on Churchwide Assembly Action
The ELCA recently met in Churchwide Assembly to act on agenda items ranging from the ordination process for deacons to the election of the presiding bishop, from a social statement on justice for women to the proposed budget for the next three years. Much media attention has addressed a decision to make the ELCA a sanctuary church body. Bishop Ann has written a letter toclarify the implications of this decision by the voting members in Milwaukee.

Tammy Devine serves as a coach, retreat facilitator, and consultant, collaborating with thought leaders to facilitate personal and communal growth toward living and leading well. Tammy is a strategic and systemic whole-person promoter of well-being, through education and inspiration. She is a registered nurse, has a Master’s degree in leadership from Luther Seminary, is an ELCA deacon, and has completed the Grace Institute for Spiritual Formation and Coach training through Auburn Theological Seminary. Devine is ICF certified and serves as a coach for health, healing, and wholeness.
